Re: American Airlines took my medical equipment bag
So we now consider ourselves disabled simply because we have been diagnosed with sleep apnea? How many of us actually need the cpap for use during flight? Isn't the desire to carry on the equipment simply motivated because of a fear that our luggage could be displaced or mishandling could cause dama...

Re: OT: Vitamin D levels a question or two
My family doctor's office called a few months back to say that my doctor had reviewed the results of some blood tests and recommended that I take a vitamin D supplement. I was always aware that vitamin D wouldn't flush out like an overdose of vitamin C so I pretty well limited myself to a single dai...

Re: My Hair Loss is so Depressing!
Here's a women's alopecia forum that would be more helpful than looking for information about hair loss on this website. http://www.heralopecia.com/interact/ My daughter lost all body hair at age 5 (alopecia universalis); some came back at puberty but then began a cycle of thinning/balding that neve...

Re: ResScan 3.7 from thecpapshop.com?
You may want to try [url]http://www.cpapworksllc.com//url] I just received the 3.7 software and card reader for $85.00 and it works like a charm in Vista. You will have to call or email the owner who was a nice guy to deal with ....... maybe not quite as nice as the lovely people who operate this we...

Why limit yourself to the "world" when there's the known universe as well? Far be it for a Canadian postal worker to dispute your claim.Slinky wrote: USPS is still the best, most efficient snail mail service in the world.

Re: American Airlines took my medical equipment bag
Just out of curiosity, do the regulations require that the airlines allow hand carry status for necessary medical equipment ..... in addition to other hand carried luggage? Could the airline insist that a passenger's requirement to carry medical equipment requires him/her to forfeit the right to oth...

No ramp as soon as I learned how to turn it off. I want that blast of air immediately. Of course I'm asleep within 90 seconds.

Re: How often to wash everything???
Well, having been a microbiologist part of my working life, I cleaned everything "by the book" at first -- and shuttered when I read how lax some members were with their cleaning routine, bordering on "none". Now, after 5 months, I've joined their ranks Joy Welcome to the dark side! At first it sim...

Re: VitalAire Not too happy with them.
Ok...so I can blame her for the prices in Alberta too, what about in Texas, Alabama etc....Unfortunately, CPAP pricing seems to be extraordinarily high everywhere. Ontario is not the only spot in the world where we experience this and issues relating to insurance non insured services. 8 month old t...

Did this thread just get resurrected after an eight month hiatus?
For the record; it's a manager with Ontario's Assisted Devices Program that unapologetically sets all the upset prices. Blame her for the outrageous compensation paid to outfits like Vitalaire.

Re: How often to wash everything???
I've been using the equipment for about 100 days and haven't even considered washing my hose. The equipment sits on a bedside table slightly lower than the top of my mattress but the hose runs up over the headboard well above my head and then back down. When I wake up and remove my mask, I allow it ...

Re: I was waking up 174 times an hour
Sorry, your stats never made it onto your posting. You might want to try that again. I was diagnosed with SA in February and thought my lab results were bad at 121 AHI's per hour but you beat that hands down. I hope that you weren't driving much with numbers like that, and I'm guessing that you need...

Re: New cpap user needs massive help...PLEASE!
I run my APAP machine at slightly higher pressures with a full face mask. I was a mouth breather my entire life but I have been able to train myself to breathe through my nose when I sleep because at these pressures it is very easy to satisfy my requirements by breathing through my nose. During the ...

Re: Do errors damage the credibility of the writer
A man is in the water. He waves to me, Shouts words I do not understand. He shouts again, Waves more vigorously. I move closer not understanding. He sinks beneath the surface. I am uncertain. His words were not clear. I wait for his reappearance, To ask if I can help. Moments pass, He does not retu...

Re: efficacy menu in autoset II reads "no data"
Keep in mind that you lose the capacity to read "daily" data after noon each day. Of course if your clock is set wrong, an incorrect time zone or you don't have Daylight Savings Time set, your machine's version of "noon" may be somewhat different from your particular reality. If you attempt to read ...
