Hi guys,
I'm a newie at all this and I am writing from the Land Downunder so I hope you don't mind the silly questions.
First of all let me say that this website is fantastic and I have learnt a great deal from reading the posts.
SO HERE'S MY STORY.
I was on cpap for about 8 weeks (remstar pro on a pressure of 10) After finding this website I asked the doc if I could try an auto pap.
The first 2 apaps he gave me (remstar auto's) were both faulty. They were set at 6 - 15 but after I switched them on they would stay on the minimum pressure for 10-15 minutes and then go to and stay on 15 even while I was awake. After having read all the stuff on thePB 420e I asked for one of these and you wouldn't beleive it was also faulty. He didn't have another pb 420 to give me so he then gave me a brand new Resmed Auto Spirit. It's been alright but I have noticed that it is a lot noisier than the other units. Has anyone else had trouble with these machines being too noisy?
Does anyone have any views / preferences or experiences with any or all of these units.
I need to make up my mind soon cos I need to buy one so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ResMed s7 family
ResMed S7 & S8 Are a bit noisy compared to a RemStar (certainly compared to my RemStar Auto).
I don't know anything about the GK420 family. Others say they seem quiet.
Cheers

I've been using my autoset spirit for a few weeks. However, before I got it I used an older one for titration. They get quieter as they get used! The older one was very quiet, and my new one was quiet noisy when I started using it, but after a couple of weeks it is really quiet and I don't notice it at all.
So I would advise you give it a while so it can loosen up a little and quiet down.
Hope that helps.
