Need Info on Remstar Plus C-Flex

Post by Kermit » Sat Jul 30, 2005 1:08 pm

Hello fellow C-Flex users,

Well I have turned full circle. After harrassing my doctor to let me have an auto, I chose the 420e and it is a wonderful auto, I reached the conclusion that I need full titrated pressure all night long, but that's another story. I get no thereapy sleeping at the lower pressures my auto takes me most of the night even if I record no AH or AHIs. I need to be at the higher titrated setting constatntly but would like to have some relief when exhaling.

Set the 420e to CPAP mode and that works fine. Am thinking of preserving the 420e for travel and 12vdc use as it consumes very little and preserves battery life. At home I don't need miniature like when on the road.

Does anyone have experience using the Remstar Plus ( not PRO ) with C-Flex ? I have read that the PRO is noisier and I don't need to collect data, did a lot of that already with the 420e and Silverlining.

How do you Remstar Plus w/C-Flex users like your machine? Is C-Flex worth spending on a new cpap when I already have one?

What are the good and bad points? Is is quiet? Does the machine's "breathing" sound seem annoying? Can you tell? Is it reliable? If I decide to go ahead I will get the integrated humidifier too. I see this combo here at cpap.com for $500. Now I am not rolling in dough, quite contrary, but I do take my therapy seriously and will do without something else. I can kiss that back yard storage shed I had been saving for this year goodbye.

Thanks

Remstar Plus with CFlex

Post by Mary » Sat Jul 30, 2005 1:17 pm

I have been using this machine since April, it is a very quiet machine, and the Flex part is a god send for me. The ramp up to pressure is just a great help.
Hope that you like your new machine as much as I like mine.

Right now on Yahoo auctions there is a brand new REMSTAR PLUS CFLEX for $229.00. You can use your other humidifier with the REMSTAR unit and still buy a shed, or atleast the materials for one.

I like my cflex setting at 3. It is very quiet especially with the white noise fan machine on/

Thanks hosed, I saw that but it does not say PLUS, PRO or ?
Also it has a 1 year warantee? Online stores usually give you 2 years, how come if it is new !

Hi Hosed,

I followed up on that Remstar Plus with C-Flex you tipped me on and it turned out to be a Plus model and with the regular 2 year warrantee. I offered $231.50 and won it, ($15 shipping).

So I guess I will soon find out if it works well for me. Now that I need to run at my titrated pressure, my ear drums are getting a little tender, more each day. I figured the C-Flex would help with the exhale which is where the pressure spikes comes into play. Didn't have this ear ache issue when using the 420e in auto mode which stayed mostly at the low end. Of course then I got very little therapy even though my AH numbers were great. I have UARS and discovered that I need high pressure delivered at the nares via nasal pillows, using the Swift, to overcome it. Apnea is the least of my problems.

Thanks for the tip.
