I had the TV by my computer on Food Network. I wasn't really watching, just had it on. I left the room for a while to do some other things and I came back and saw a guy strapping a C-PAP mask on his face! I was very surprised and quickly checked what show it was on. It was "My Life In Food". The Episode is titled "This City id Going on a Diet". It's about a mayor's challenge in Oklahoma City to help the citizens battle obesity.
I have a DVR, so I backtracked to see what it was all about. They covered a bachelor and a family that took on the challenge. As they were starting to cover the family the dad said he has sleep apnea and he sleeps with a C-PAP machine. His doctor told him if he loses the weight, he won't need the machine any longer! Hmmmmmm....while we know that MAY be possible, it's not necessarily the case. Another doctor who is spreading mis-information.
Towards the end of the 30 minute show, the man has lost 24 lbs. His blood pressure is down and he may be able to reduce his blood pressure medicines. He still sleeps with C-PAP, but he said he did have to tighten up the straps because his face is smaller.
Just found it interesting and wanted to share and see if anyone else saw it.

Re: C-PAP on Food Network
I watched it. I thought the same thing about not needing it if he lost weight. Who knows though.
