Breeze "old" and "new"

Post by eugene » Thu Jul 21, 2005 5:10 pm

What is the difference between the "old" model and the "new" model Breeze?

Thanks

From our host cpap.com:
A number of design enhancements were recently made to the Breeze SleepGear interface based on patient feedback. The hose guide for the Nasal Pillows assembly features a stronger material to increase longevity. In addition, a new clip has been added to the Nasal Pillows assembly that gives patients greater flexibility in positioning the halo straps to help keep the interface securely positioned on the head. The cradle pad on the Breeze SleepGear interface has thicker padding to increase comfort, and a cuff has been added to the swivel adapter for greater convenience when disconnecting the interface.

Sounds like they listen anyone tried it?

I have never used the 'old' Breeze but have been using the 'new' Breeze for several weeks. I can't compare the two but, I can tell you that I find the 'new' Breeze to be remarkably stable. I use the halo straps connecting the pad behind my head to the pad that sits at the top of my head. I do not use the new clip that lets you lower the straps closer toward my nose. Even though I don't have the straps down low where they would give the most stability, I find that it stays in place no matter how much I rock and roll during the night.

I don't like the "new" hose guide at all!! Have been using the old breeze several years. The "clios" come off and slide down if you tighten the side straps much at all. The guide is to flexible!!
But the BIGGEST problem is that the "stops" on the new hose guide, don't stop. The old guide clicked into place securely and stayed...the new one can be sent flying off the cradle with just a flick of the wrist!! It slides out of adjustment during the night.

I still LOVE my old breeze!! I have managed to get three spare "old style' hose guides!! Hope they fix the problem before I run out, or after all these years, I will have to change headgear!!

They really did an awful job of trying to "fix" the problem.

If you do get the "new" hose guide, be prepared to use tape, or twist ties at both ends of the hose guide " cradle and plenum" or it will slide apart all night long!!

You are right about this! I had to use tape to get the Breeze to stay in the configuration that I wanted. I'd get it set just right but it would be out of adjustment shortly after I put it on. I found that a bit of tape wrapped around the points where it would adjust solved the problem.

Interesting that the 'old' Breeze did not slip out of position as easily.
