Will the Humdifier from a Autoset Respond fit the Spirit?

Post by ehusen01 » Wed Jul 20, 2005 9:44 am

Subject says it all. I have a Respond with the 2i Humidifier and such. I'm debating buying a Spirit so I can at least track what the heck is going on with my treatment and apnea..

In an attempt to save some money, I was wondering if my current humidifier hookup could be used on the Spirit. The data implies that this is true. That way I can just buy the bare bones Spirit machine and save at least a little money...

Thanks

Eric

Yes, the spirit also uses the 2i as its attachment humidifier.

Yes

- it is the S-8 that will use a new humidifier

The shape changed from the S-7 models (Elite lightweight, Elite, Spirit, VPAPIII)
to the new S-8 Escape shape.

ResMed are supposet to be releasing a new humidifier for the S-8 in August (IIRC)

Some of the newer S8 series supposedly to have some ResLink features capabilities

Hi John,

I am not 100% sure but I thought the new S-8 had a card slot in it plus a comm port for connecting to computers.

Anyone else know ? exactly what the config is ?

According to my sleep therapist - or - the bloke down at the hospital who insists that I have a rubbish machine - as I like to call him (thats the UK NHS for you!!) the S8 humidifier was available from last week - well it was for him anyway! as for the other details, check the website http://www.resmed.com for a pdf of the S8 etc..

Oh, and I can confirm that the humidifier works on the S7 and the autoset spirit. We don't have the respond in the UK, but resmed have made the 2i to fit on the whole series of machines that are identical in size and shape which includes the S7, Respond and Spirit.

Greetings Sir C

Thanks for the link - just checked it & it mentions that the S-8 has a data card.

I have actually purchased an S-8 to play with - tis on its way from Calif. When I have had the chance I will do a write up on it.

ResScan Data Card

* Daily compliance downloads with AutoScan software
* Treatment changes
* Personal Assistant reminders
