Re: snoring in my mask -- newbie question
I have occassionally snored lightly with the mask. That is usually at the beginning of the night when the machine is at the bottom of its range. Since I have an APAP machine, snoring tells my machine to increase the pressure. So I rarely snore more than once. Now that I think about it, I probably sh...

Re: Do you use a battery backup? if so what type?
Why don't you look into using the ResMed DC-12 converter? https://www.cpap.com/productpage/DC-12-Inverter.html
It is more efficient than an inverter, and is designed for use with the autoset II. It is not inexpensive at ~$80 but is less costly then some of the previously mentioned options.

Re: Masks wear out ?
I have had some mask parts break. So I like to keep a couple of the same size/brand on hand for replacement parts. My Insurance allows a new mask every 6 months. I usually only get the cushions every three months and the mask every year or so. I make sure that I have a way to keep my mask functional...

Re: Heated Humidifier vs. Cool
For me, it's a matter of choice. I like the ability to alter my setup. Sometimes, I do not use a humidifier. In fact most of my hours are without a humidifier. I also have humidifier that does not have a heater. I have used it sporadically over the years. Currently, I am using a heated humidifier wi...

Re: does a DME have to do the set up in your home?
My DME required that they set up the machine for me, in person. I had to drive 35 miles to meet with the tech, at the DME's office, and receive the machine. I brought my mask with me. He knew less then I did about the machine. He admitted that he was not familiar with APAP machines. I also asked him...

Re: He Didn[t Know His Number
If it works, why delve deeper? I didn't realize until about a week ago that my prior machine was not the one the DME had on the receipt. I have over 17000 hours on that machine. I am sure that someone was overcharged as the receipt showed a Goodnight machine at $1350.00 instead of a basic Respironic...

Re: CPAP in the movies or on tv?
Perhaps you do have too much time on your hands.
CPAPs may be absent from the bedroom like review mirrors are from the windshield of cars in the movies/tv. You know that they are there.

Re: Mirage II Nasal Mask
Has anyone used the Mirage II Nasal Mask or the Mirage Activa LT. I am currently using a nose pillow style mask, but I am having problems with leaks because of the shape of my nose holes. Thanks, I have the same mask. I was "given" three different size pillows. I tried each until I found one that w...

Re: Diverting direction of exhalation air
I sleep with the hose pointing towards my scalp. I also have a pillow that I keep over my head. If I place the pillow correctly, I can loosen my straps a lot and the pillow holds the mask in place.

You might want to read http://www.resmed.com/en-us/assets/documents/service_support/battery-guide.pdf. It gives some details of xpap battery usage. Also look for user with the name of sleepygal ? At least I think that is the name. She has multiple links in some of her posts regarding equipment for c...

Re: Discovered I can't sleep w/o cpap
Either wait until the lights go off, or tell a ghost story as a way to introduce the mask.
Actually, most people are understanding if you introduce it up front. Especially if it makes their sleeping environment quieter (free of snoring).

Re: Now available in USA
That's what I was looking at. The cost is high. The xPAP therapy is a lot less expensive over time.WearyOne wrote:Did anybody see the cost ?? And I don't think insurance is going to pay....

Re: Bad Head Cold and CPAP
Last night I got a really bad cold. I'm alternating between a very runny and stuffed nose. I use a nose mask. I put in on last night and quickly stopped because I could not breath. I spent the day today at home mostly sleeping in my easy chair in the family room. No CPAP. Anyone have suggestions? I...
