Paul56 - I Need Your Help

Post by Slinky » Sun Nov 30, 2008 4:31 pm

Hey, Paul, you told someone how to post their data from ResScan here in the forum.
from a ResScan report involves a few steps:

-Select to print the report which opens a new window with the PDF document.
-Scroll down to where the charts are and click on the chart you want to post.
-Now right click and select "Copy image".
-Paste that in PAINT and save as a JPG
-Upload to an online image storage service such as PhotoBucket
My "right click" won't work in my ResScan 3.4 "Copy Image" does not come up as an option. Any suggestions?

Slinky my name's not Paul but I'm going to suggest an answer anyway

You can also use "print screen" to capture the entire screen, then in Paint (I prefer the program IrfanView, which you can get for free online), you can use your mouse to highlight just the section you want (First click on the icon of the box made up of dotted lines). Unfortunately there's no "crop" in Paint, so you have to either
- copy the highlihgted area, and then paste it into a new paint session, and save it as jpg. or -
- save it using "copy to", which only saves as a BMP file. Then you have to open the BMP to re-save it as jpg.

With irfanview you can just highlight what you want , and with one click crop everything, sop that only your selection remains.

Slinky, if this doesn't help you maybe it'll help someone else

EDIT: I should have been more clear.
"Print Screen" is a function that most (newer) computers have. You can find it on your keyboard (usually) just near/above the F1-F12 keys. It's probably shortened to "Prnt Scrn"

In ResScan click on "Report" then select "Print" from the upper right hand corner. This opens a new window with the PDF report. Scroll down to where the detail graphs are and click on one of them and you will see that graph highlighted. Now right click while hovering over the highlighted portion and the "Copy Image" option will be displayed.

With this method you will get ONLY the graph(s) you want. You will need to repeat for each graph you want to include.

Hope this helps.

Ah, Gumby. That wasn't necessary.

Thanks, Echo and Paul. I've always been jealous of those who can post their results. *sigh* I couldn't even download one of those free pdf printer thingies and another I was told about did download for me but won't work. Duh! 'Puters and I just are NOT particularly compatable!

if you have a pdf file there is a tool called snapshot tools that can be used to take an piece of the file into paint

in adobe use tools, then select and zoom, then snapshot tool - scroll over the area you want - then there is a command to copy that with a right click

take that image into paint (start, program files, accessories, paint), copy it there, save the file as a jpg,

upload that to photobucket or another site that will host jpg.s - once there you can look at viewtopic.php?p=310356#p310356 (and the post I have linked there).

Thanks everybody! These last two weeks back in Auto mode w/my VPAP Auto I'm sleeping well AND getting consisitenly 0 Leaks, <5 AHI and quite a few 0 AIs. That's at a setting of IPAP 13, EPAP 5, pressure support 3.6 and that flimsy ole white Respironics chin strap w/my Simplicity and/or the Swift LT. When I get a 0 Leak and 0 AHI I wanna be ready to post the image!!!!! So I'm gonna be trying all your suggestions and practice what works for me so I will be ready. How's THAT for optimism??

We have a diesel generator that kicks in on power failures to keep the servers running. Last week during a transfer test the fellow upstairs was complaining that his lights were flickering and that his volt meter showed 160 volts at the wall outlet.

I had the electrician come by yesterday to check everything out... everything normal. The electrician wants to see this meter that registered 160 volts... turns out the meter is from China and was purchased at a dubious local store infamous for stocking very low quality items.

Electrician declared in front of everyone while pointing at the meter "Well... there is your problem. Toss this thing out and call me next time you suspect an issue."
