I'm using the Target shapeable pillow. It works well with the headgear, but I wish it was a little more pillow and a little less air.
One soft, sweet song's just enough to clear my head...

I haven't found the need to get a special pillow. I've always had a few pillows on the bed, one to hug, one firm and one soft and I switch off depending on whats most comfy on any given night. I'm a side sleeper/stomach sleeper/back sleeper...and I move around a lot and am just fine w/my "regular pillows" and Nasal Aire II interface. Terry

I went out and bought the Shapeable pillow at Target. It doesn't seem to be anything more than a very soft pillow. At the same time I bought the "side sleeper pillow" which is very firm, and if I lie on my side and hang my face over the edge, it works..... well, pretty well.

There is some sort of specially shaped pillow I saw on one of the sites but I can't find it again. When I do, that's the next pillow I'm going to trial.

My Tempur-Pedic pillow came from a local bed/mattress store. The one I have looks like this:

I guess it's called the "neck pillow". I don't know which size it is, because my mom gave it to me.

Frankly, I didn't like it at all at first. Felt too low and too firm to me after years of sleeping on regular foam pillows. For months I used it as the bottom of a "stack" of two pillows, putting a thin regular foam pillow on top. I liked having the Tempur underneath though, for the firm edge it provided -- keeping my regular pillow raised up better to give the mask clearance off the mattress when sleeping on my side.

Gradually I switched to using the Tempur as the top pillow of my "stack", liking the way headgear was absorbed into it.

Finally, I broke open the piggy bank and bought a full Tempur-Pedic bed, an adjustable one. Heavenly!! With the head of the bed raised ever so slightly, I find the Tempur-Pedic pillow by itself feels great. The stack that I used to use feels way too high now.

Have been thinking about getting an additional Tempur-Pedic pillow that looks like a regular pillow. Now that my mask (the deconstructed Aura) doesn't require me to keep my head on the edge of a pillow (Tempur or otherwise) and I can sleep on my side with head anywhere on any pillow, I think I'd enjoy having a regular style Tempur-Pedic pillow too. It's on my Christmas wish list.

What Kind of (Bed) Pillow Do You Use?

I got one like Rested Girl's from Memory Foam Australia [foamman@bigpond.net.au] via ebay. It came within two days, no problems. Details at:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 4381962126

I too found it a bit strange at first - it felt hard, but you sort of sink into it and it shapes itself to your head (and mask). My previous "Dunlopillo" polyfoam pillow let my head sink too far into it and the exhaust from my mask used to blow onto it and make a noise if I rolled too far over on my side.

Pillows

Post by Simply Sue » Mon Jul 18, 2005 5:37 pm

I rediscoved LATEX pillows. Actually in my quest for a better night sleep (before CPAP)...I purchased an adjustable bed with a latex mattress.

Latex pillows are soft and firm both.
The old latex pillows when i was a kid used to turn yellow and crumble but apparently if you buy a quality pillow (that uses latex from somewhere in South America) they last much longer....like 25 years or more.

My 25cents worth.
