Remstar Auto w/C-flex help needed

Post by SnoreNoMore2005 » Thu Jul 14, 2005 7:47 pm

I just got a Remstar Auto with Cflex. I used to have a Remstar with Cflex (but not Auto). Tonight is my first night with it!

On my "old" Remstar with Cflex, I used to be able to change the pressure settings from the menu by holding down the Left-Right User keys while plugging in the power.

On the Auto Pap, holding down the Left-Right User keys while plugging in the power does not bring up the main set-up menu.

Can someone who is experienced with the Remstar Auto with Cflex tell me how to modify the min - max pressure settings? They are currently set at 5cm and 15cm. I would feel better knowing I could modify the settings if needed.

WillSucceed? DreamGal? ChrisP?...anyone...? Can someone tell me how to change the pressure settings on my new machine.

Thanks for your hellp.

I'd help you if I could but, as I don't have a RemStar Auto anymore (have not had it for many months) I can't remember how to adjust settings.

Sorry! Good news is that someone else is likely to be able to help you!

OK, here is the key to the DaVinci Code!!! You are absolutely on the right track.
1. Unplug the machine
2. Hold down the right and left user keys
3. Plug the machine back in and hold the user keys down until you hear a beep
4. Menu will show a bunch of crap and then start flashing
5. use left and right keys to scroll through the menu
6. Use heat and ramp keys to elevate and lower
7. when you are finished, press start button
8. If you pull the card out before you do this, you can avoid the stupid questionnaire...if you go too quickly, like I do, you zoom right into it!

If we just put this in the dictionary, it would not have to be repeated. Actually, my DME came out today with a new humidifier and SHOWED me how to do it....I just amiled....she said, I know you are doing it anyway!!!!!!
I just smiled some more!! If you have a problem....ask away!

Listless I'll try again

Post by SnoreNoMore2005 » Fri Jul 15, 2005 10:56 am

Listless, I thought I was doing what you told me to do. Maybe I didn't hold down the left and right buttons long enough? The machine beeps then immediately switches to the regular menu. I'm at work but will try again tonight when I get home.

On my Remstar CFlex (without Auto), the set up menu came up almost immediately when I held the L/R keys and plugged it in.

I wonder if there is a way the DME can prevent me from reaching the main setup menu?

If it doesn't work as you described I'll let you know.

Thanks for your advice.

RemStar

I have noticed that on my RemStar Auto w/cflex, it takes a while after I apply power, for the display to start flashing - I have to keep holding down the left/righ user butoons until the flashing occurs. I don't know about any beep (but I am deaf anyway).

Also I have just realised why my face seems so overpowered on startup - I thought the ramp action was automatic but upon reading the above posts realised that the ramp is not automatic but started by a seperate button (the 'RAMP' button) D'uh - I made the same mistake in regard to the RemStar humidifier heater but got that right by night #2.

Cheers

It works!

Thank you DreamGal, WillSucceed, Listless, and DSM.

It turns out that I just wasn't holding the left-right buttons down long enough for the APAP to kick into 'therapy mode'. My previous Remstar CFlex (without Auto) kicked in to therapy mode almost immediately after booting up.

Anyway... problem solved... and I appreciate your help.
