I still feel TERRIBLE on my CPAP - Scared it's killing me.

... or causing brain damage or dementia. Even on nights when the AHI is good, below 2, I still wake up feeling like death. My head, right now as I write this, feels tight, my eyes hurt and feel heavy, my head feels just sick - tight, like a feeling that it's not getting the air it needs. Every singl...

Re: Burning smell in Respironics Remstar Auto (tank)

This legitimately does happen. It's a HUGE problem with my remstar When the tank gets below half when this smell gets so strong it disturbs my sleep. It is absolutely from the humidifier tank since I can literally smell the water when the machine is completely off and that smell is coming off it. Th...

Re: What are some GREAT APAP set ups for below $500?

Right now I have a remstar. I think it's listed in my profile. I have never had any success ever with this machine but it could be that my settings were wrong (10). Or that I just needed an APAP. Any ideas on a good machine, humidifier and hose set up? Technically I have a non heated hose and I hav...

Want to buy a GREAT APAP set ups for below $500 ..

Because a few months ago my new sleep tests concluded that I need to have a machine set between 10 and 16. But, of course, my friggin Medicaid lapsed and when i tried to reup it they're playing friggin games for weeks and I just found out today that I need to start the entire application process ove...

Re: Best Beds or Mattresses to Eliminate Back Pain and Stiffness

Great advice everyone... Has anyone ever tried a Caspert? I'm about ready to get a new client from my business and I'd hate to spend the entire paycheck on a mattress, but I totally will if it means easier sleep. However, Casper is only $800. Apparently its got high ratings. Also there's a Leesa, Be...

Best Beds or Mattresses to Eliminate Back Pain and Stiffness

So I've been looking at the internet for this topic and decided, "Why not try a community that revolves around sleep!" I'm still having fragmented sleep and actually have 2 mattresses in my room. One is a hard spring mattress with 4 inch mattress pad on it (2 inched memory foam and 2 inches regular ...

Re: Is my CPAP treatment even working? (updated p2)

And back to not so good. My next step is to go to an ENT (deviated septum) as well as go back in and get retested for my titration and to try and see if there's something else contributing to my sleep problems... I seem to sleep and wake up and sleep and wake up and sleep then around the 7 hour mark...

Re: Is my CPAP treatment even working? (updated p2)

Sleep was actually good last night after I read your advice, and did some clearing and tried the ESON mask again. I think maybe I just needed to hear that the therapy was probably working and do a little sedona method to let go of a lot of backed up stress and anxiety about the whole thing. My hopes...

Re: Is my CPAP treatment even working? (updated p2)

I'm very new to this and also have had sleep issues for a long time. Don't take this in a bad way, but from your posts you seem very anxious. I also get that way. Sometimes melatonin before bed can help. I also have used valerian root and Passion flower. Those have helped to calm my anxious brain b...

Re: Is my CPAP treatment even working? (updated p2)

One more question. How do I know the pressure is accurate? Like does the machine have the capability to know of the blower is still blowing the same pressure that's it's supposed to? Perhaps I tilted the machine and a little water spills from the humidifier on the motor for the blower and now it's r...

Re: Is my CPAP treatment even working? (updated p2)

I don't see the need for a pulse oximeter based on the data on the reports. Now that doesn't mean that you couldn't be having some oxygen issues but if you are I don't see them being related to the OSA itself. If it would relieve your mind to have that additional data...then by all means consider i...

Re: Is my CPAP treatment even working? (updated p2)

On paper the reports look good. AHI is nice and low and leaks are for the most part well managed...so I don't see a pressure adjustment working any miracles. What I do see and hear is crappy sleep from mask issues and maybe general issues. I see lots of probable wake ups and severely fragmented sle...

Re: Is my CPAP treatment even working? (updated p2)

The large leak spikes aren't prolonged enough to be impacting therapy all that much as in making the AHI inaccurate. Now they are probably indications of a major mask leak and refitting/resealing situation which of course means most likely a full arousal which of course is unwanted but the amount o...

Re: How to know if I'm getting enough oxygen in my sleep w/ CPAP

I have been on treatment over a year. I just woke up another day after what I consider to be a horrible night, tossing, turning, adjusting the mask, having leaks pop in my face, trying to go back to sleep, back and body stiff as hell, tossing, turning, moving about. SLEEP, to me, is a CHORE and I HA...
