Full-Face Mask for Side-Sleepers without Nasal Pillows

. What would you recommend in a full-face mask for a side sleeper that does not have nasal pillows? I have been using the Hybrid (InnoMed/RespCare) for all of my 14 years on CPAP, but now for some reason my nose often hurts in the morning. Tried switching the height of the nasal pillows and the size...

Re: DreamWear Full-Face Mask Questions

Thanks, CaptianRaven40. I was kinda going with the DreamWear FF because it has the Fit Pack so I don't have to guess at what size, and that was really the only reason. I'll definitely keep the F30i in mind, though. Thanks!

Re: DreamWear Full-Face Mask Questions

Your answer is correct. Side sleeping and compressing the tube that is down won't restrict the overall air flow. I am a side sleeper and I did try the DreamWear (all versions) and not once did I feel any air restriction when on my side. ResMed has a similar mask and it doesn't restrict the air flow...

Excited here! I was accepted in the Pfizer mRNA Phase 3 vaccine trial. I'll get my first shot Wednesday. Keeping my fingers crossed that they give me the vaccine and not the placebo! https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-and-biontech-choose-lead-mrna-vaccine-candidat...

DreamWear Full-Face Mask Questions

For the DreamWear Full-Face mask, I had a concern that, since I"m mainly a side sleeper, I might mash and block the tube on one side providing the CPAP air. Their video says that if that happens the needed amount of air will just come through the other side. Makes sense to me since the mask I have n...

Re: COVID-19 spread and CPAP

As a side note, I have come across research lately that indicates people with OSA do have a higher chance of COVID being severe for them even if they don't have any other health issues. Not related to your question, I know, but might be something you'd be interested in if you're not already aware o...

Re: COVID-19 spread and CPAP

Right when COVID-19 started spreading like crazy in the US, I heard speculation in the media that CPAP machines were spreading COVID-19 in nursing homes. I haven't heard anything recently about that. Does my use of CPAP increase the risk of my wife catching COVID-19 if I should catch COVID-19? If y...

Re: No effect / Hate it

I rarely sleep on my back. I've been on CPAP for about 13 years, and I'm still a mouth-breather, so that won't necessarily go away or lessen with time. My mask has nose pillows and also covers my mouth, but it doesn't go over my nose or up near my eyes. I could never get a decent seal with a regular...

Re: Urgent! Why is my CPAP therapy causing weird stomach pains, bloating, gas and IBS?

IBS would not be caused by using CPAP. It's a functional gastrointestinal (GI) disorder. Stress can make it worse. It often originally starts from a bacterial problem in the intestines, but not always. I've had it for over 30 years. I've been on CPAP treatment for about 13 years. I've never seen a c...

Re: New ResMed Mask. AirFit F30

I am interested in this one. Confused a bit, though, as the user manual from the ResMed site (which I assume comes with the mask after you buy it) says to use the fitting template before using the mask to get the right size cushion and frame, which sounds like all sizes are included (kinda like the...

Re: Purchasing a device from SecondwindCPAP

I doubt anyone has had an issue with this since no one mentioned it, but any problems with odors such as cigarette smoke with the gentle used machines at Secondwind? I'm very sensitive to this, especially the cigarette smoke smell. I have also contacted them to ask about this, but wanted to get feed...
