Panty Hose for Leaks??

Post by skittles » Sat Nov 01, 2008 5:13 pm

I have heard mention several times about using panty hose to help with mask leaks -- being new to all this, can someone please tell me how this works??

I use the simple cushion ComfortLite 2, and have only a slight leak around the nostrils --

Thanks

skittles, normally the pantyhose are used to stabilize the mask in order to prevent it from moving around and thus from leaking. You may have heard of it used for the NAII or the Decapitated Aura/Headrest.

Here is "lab rat" page - modifications made to masks to make them fit better... viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15104
The CL2 is also there - though there is no specific mention of using the pantyhose, there are other mods employed in order to bring the nasal assembly closer to the nostrils.

And BTW they are normally referring to the slightly thicker (and cotton) "tights" rather than the thin pantyhose....

happy lab ratting!

Thanks echo -- this is a process to get things "just right" , and with someone like me who has OCD, "just right" is the only acceptable thing

Okay, I know I've asked before about pantyhose use with the hybrid and everyone has been shy.
Is there a picture someone of a real person or at least a mannequin bust correctly using the
'pantyhose solution' that someone could just post right here for, oh, say, perhaps, the hybrid, maybe? Please?

I use what I had at home, plain old hose (cut panty part out) and tie that around my head, (just one leg) horizontally and tie at the bridge of my nose - works well for me - places the mask closer to my head, probably looks really bad, but hubby likes me better hosed (better mood) I have also used extra fleece I had from wrapping my hose using the reptile heater.
