do remember to clean or replace your CPAPs air filter

also some of them are very badly organised. lazy and need constant prodding to get your wquipment, so try to judge how efficent they are, its also a big help if you can visit their premesis to judge them

as an anxiety and insomnia sufferer, it took me a full 3 months before I could use mine every night
patience and a positive attitude are essential, remembering that here in australia its generally accepted that fully half of those prescribed a CPAP never get used to them and dont use them

a very dry mouth and tongue suggests some mouth breathing with a nose only mask, probably a FF mask is better

I guess if someone else is paying, go for the most expensive well known brand with a long warranty, but please do read the instruction manual, many dont I have to pay for mine and am content with cheap basic models but I do look for an established maker, with service depts and a long factory warrant...

an alternative for flying is to get a seat with a power point and an adaptor and plug it in, this may involve paying more than basic economy, also you often need to apply to airline well in advance to get their approval for your brand and type of CPAP, forget any humidifiers, of course

none of us like using our CPAPs at first, bit its a bit like getting used to wearing seatbelts in a car....
its common for new users to remove mask in sleep....

another possibility is periods of mouth breathing with a nose only mask, this causes a dry mouth and tougue even with a humidifier in use and of course stops all CPAP benefits
