Re: new machine

as an anxiety and insomnia sufferer, it took me a full 3 months before I could use mine every night

patience and a positive attitude are essential, remembering that here in australia its generally accepted that fully half of those prescribed a CPAP never get used to them and dont use them

Re: Flouride treatments for CPAP users...?

a very dry mouth and tongue suggests some mouth breathing with a nose only mask, probably a FF mask is better

yes the saliva does help prevent tooth decay

Re: How Do We Chose A CPAP Machine

I guess if someone else is paying, go for the most expensive well known brand with a long warranty, but please do read the instruction manual, many dont I have to pay for mine and am content with cheap basic models but I do look for an established maker, with service depts and a long factory warrant...

Re: S8 Elite II CPAP.com Battery Question

an alternative for flying is to get a seat with a power point and an adaptor and plug it in, this may involve paying more than basic economy, also you often need to apply to airline well in advance to get their approval for your brand and type of CPAP, forget any humidifiers, of course

Re: I sleep better when I don't wear my mask.

none of us like using our CPAPs at first, bit its a bit like getting used to wearing seatbelts in a car....

its common for new users to remove mask in sleep....

patience and positive thinking is essential to adjust to CPAP use

Re: Always Sleepy......

another possibility is periods of mouth breathing with a nose only mask, this causes a dry mouth and tougue even with a humidifier in use and of course stops all CPAP benefits

I am a new member from australia, on CPAP since 1995
