It happens occasionally. That's why it's a good idea to have a spare/backup machine handy.

wulfman. thank you for response, yes i do have a backup, it is a resmed s7 not an auto by far,but it is almost new, but it was set at titration of 10 at sleep study. from what i can see this cpap does not have an option to change pressure that i know of, this machine \was sold to me by dme who charged medicare $3500for it, i did not belong to this forum then and did not realize what was going on, after about 1 year i got my sleep study report and read that they had indicated a bipap machine, i called the dme and he said i could not do anything about it now, he said they gave him the wrong report at first, that wasnt mine. then he got corrected, but too late to exchange it, that is when i purchased the m series from cpap, and really liked it, , so till i find out what may be needed to fix it i will go back to resmed, thanks again, two stepper.

Any machine can have the pressure reset within the range it will run at! The S7 won't operate as an auto or a Bi Pap for that matter. I think this is the instructions to reset the Pressure on the S7:

1) Turn on your machine and wait for the "Welcome "message to complete

2) Press the right button (with the red line on it - it should also have the word EXIT
above it on the display)

3) Now the display should show "S7 Lightweight " or "S7 Elite" or S7 Spirit" and the
word MENU should show over the left button."

4) Press both the right button and the down-arrow button at the same time and hold
down for at least 3 seconds.

5) "CLINICAL MENU - WELCOME" should show in the display, then after 3 seconds the
display will change again to ...

6) "CLINICAL - MENU exit"

7) Press the left button with the word MENU above it

Next you should see "SETTINGS - ENTER exit" (if SETTINGS doesn't show it may be
"RESULTS" or "OPTIONS" or "SERVICING" if it is any of these other words then use
the middle up/down toggle button to navigate to "SETTINGS"

9) When you have "SETTINGS" in the display, press the left button with the word
"ENTER" above it (this now takes you into the SETTINGS menu)

10) Then use the up/down toggle button in the middle of the panel, to navigate to the
settings you want to change - when you have the setting you want to change press the
left button with the word "change" above it.

11) Use the up/down toggle button to vary the settings.

To get out just keep pressing the right button. It will have either "cancel" or "exit"
written above it. Keep pressing it until back to normal ("S7 Elite" or S7 Lightweight" or "S7 Spirit").

E 87
Occluded, restrictive or defective flow sensor.
Needs to be replaced. Or replace PCA.

http://www.acbio.com/ this place fixes cpap machines.

My suggestion:

Go up to the Search function.......click on the "Advanced Search" and look up the forum member "Accurate".
Or, go to the "acbio (dot) com" website. (also listed in the forum member's signature)

Contact them and they should be able to help you.

I've S7 elite. When i turn it on, screen shows welcome message and start to scan with ">>>>>>" signs increasing on screen. Then in the middle it says "system error call service"
I don't have service facility in my area. Its too far. Can anybody help me trace fault and fix it.

How old is your machine? Do you know the number of hours on it?

For most people self repair isn't a option. The DME you got it from could send it in for repair, but it's a 4 generation old machine. Replacement is probably a better option. The locations listed in the other posts can probably repair it but it will cost for them to see and probably not a good investment.

You can also join the forum, and keep informed we have some honest sellers of used equipment, but remember buyer beware. Also Second Wind, sells used units. I bought a new APAP from our host cpap dot com., you won't find a more honest dealer. Jim

Displays error message:
SYSTEM ERROR
Call service!
Component failure. Return your unit for servicing

That's all the manual says.

You need to get a newer/different one. The S7 generation of machines was made prior to (about) 2006.
That's why we have spares and backup machines. Nothing lasts forever.

That's how we know it's the weekend, people drag up old posts and Whack-O-Dootle them. It was only 8 years old, wrong brand, must have caught me in a good mood, (almost next go impossible) jim
