Re: Software

You probably need software IF your machine is data capable. Please login and add your equipment in (TEXT) in your profile and someone can help you. Your therapy is not working well enough now, though.

Re: All S9 users - Is H5i working ??

I am using the S9 autoset with H5i humidifier and ClimateControl Hose. I really like the way it works. Set on Auto and 80 degrees and it uses about 1/2 tank of distilled water. I am sure that everyone realizes that if your room temperature is 75 degrees and you set your humidifier to deliver 75 degr...

Re: Mac softwear for s9

I use a Vista VM under Parallels to run ResScan. I keep meaning to try and get it running under CrossOver since I use that for other Windows programs without much effort. I would be very interested in a CrossOver implementation!!!!!! That would be extremely useful for Mac users!!! I use Fusion VM W...

Re: ResMed VPAP III vs III-ST, III ST-A or new S9

Since you have never had a sleep test, but have self diagnosed that you have OSA, your first assignment is to talk to your family doctor and get them to write you a prescription for an Auto CPAP machine and a mask and a pressure set from 6 to 20cm so you can use it for diagnosis. The Respironics Sys...

Re: Getting Rescan 3.10 to Run on a Mac?

After my second night on my S9, I'm greatly encouraged. I want to run the software on my Mac. 1. I plan to buy Parallels. Is that a good idea or should I just stick with Bootcamp. 2. Which Microsoft Operating System should I get? Vista, etc.? I know nothing about PC's. I would use this for Rescan f...

Re: S9 Elite and S9 AutoSet difference?

The S9 Autoset can do everything that an Elite can PLUS it can be put in auto mode to adjust the pressure to changing conditions such as flow limitations that usually proceed apnea or hypopneas. The price difference is very low between the two models, so if you have a choice buy the S9 Autoset.

Re: ResMed S9 AutoSet mode makes me tired

If you register and list your equipment in addition to the S9 and a little background on you and your sleep test, maybe someone can offer some insight to your problem.

Re: Mouth Breathing for Non-Mouth Breathers

CPAP works on the principal that you are primarily breathing through your nose. The pressure can dislodge your tongue much better through your nose breathing than through mouth breathing. You would be much better off to visit a good ENT (nose doctor) and get his recommendation. Your body will take c...

Intellipap Auto vs Sandman Auto (Comments appreciated)

The Sandman Auto seems to be a very good machine, but some issues make this a difficult decision, although this is my preference right now: 1) I am thoroughly confused about the differences in the software of v1.1 and 1.3 and the very high cost of this software at some places (Up to $260) and down t...

Re: My mask is leaking!

It is a difficult problem until you solve it, then it works every night properly. For me, it turned out I have to shave every night before bedtime, then scrub face with a warm washrag where the mask touches my face. Then wash the mask sealing surface with a warm washcloth just before bedtime. PadACh...

Re: Need help - 2 years with CPAP and unable to sleep

I have been a CPAP user for two years also. Fortunately, I was able to solve the exact same problems with the help of many people in this forum. A $10 box fan from Walmart directed away from you will most likely keep you from being disturbed by any sounds. You need to get a full face mask such as th...

Re: Should I be worried

Should I be worried my sleep doctor just phoned and wants me to have another sleep study with CPAP machine on. My last sleep study was just in December and they started me on CPAP their saying that I am one of the worst cases they have ever seen and i'm only 18. You should not be worried. The sleep...

Re: dropped APAP/broken-under warranty???

Hope you get it fixed or replaced. I was lucky and had no damage to mine the first time I drug it off the nightstand. After that I bought a roll of ties from Lowes. They are the Velcro kind that one side sticks to the other side. I use them to secure the hose to the headboard. There are also some ho...

Re: Not doing GOOD

I usually sleep on my side, but can sleep on my stomach with a ResMed Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask or with a ResMed Quattro Full Face Mask using an inexpensive Costco Conforming Foam shaped pillow and let mask hang off of one end or close to it. This whole thing takes a lot of time and experimenting,...
