Used this all winter and no problems what-so-ever. Do it.

Re: Does Vinegar Really Disinfect?

I use vinegar to clean the scale out of the bottom of my humidifier. I just soaked it for a while and than used detergent to clean and fresh water to rinse. I don't believe it has been disinfected as such, but certainly clean enough for me.

Re: repti heat cable query

Hi sorry for the delay, I have been away.

I bought mine online from;

http://www.australianreptiles.com.au/

It cost $20AUD plus delivery.

I am not really worried about heating the plastic. I'll prbably die of something else like heart disease first.

Cheers,

Mark

Re: repti heat cable query

Hi, I bought a 4 metre, 15 watt, repti cord. The whole cord heats. I found that just running it down the length didn't heat the air enough. I then wrapped the cord around and around, then covered it with a cover. There was no cross over and no extra cord. Works great. I don't use a thermostat as I b...

Should I get an oximeter?

I have seen some posts where people are measuring there oxygen levels during the night. I have been on APAP for a couple of years and feel that I am getting the right treatment. I haven't organised my software as yet, however my AHI are always below 4. Is it worth getting this device and if it is wh...

Re: Activa questions

The only mask I use is the Activa. I have tried the nasal pillows but just couldn't get used to it. I have an average pressure of 10.2. No worries. I would like to try other masks, however, it is an expensive exercise to try a new mask and then find out that it doesn't work for you.

Good luck.

Well I have heard that the typical Aussie bloke's request for a bit of lovin' is "Are you awake?" Maybe now it will be when he suggestivley removes the mask or maybe; "Your mask or mine?" The knock back might be "Sorry honey, I need to breath tonight" instead of "I have a headache" Will have to look...

Buying the small stuff from the states is easy. I bought a hose from cpapauction for only $15. With the exchange rate at the moment it is still a pretty good deal. If you buy other stuf like a mask or filters, it usually costs no extra in postage. It would be good to see the faces of the rental peop...

80 watts, that sure is some power.

I have been using a 15w, 2 metre cord for a couple of months. Takes the edge off just enough to stop the rain out. Doesn't even come close to heating up to melt stage.

Tim would have been proud. Wilson "yep, yep, yep"

I am from Australia and I bought a mask thru the site as well. Even though they said they only shipped to the States I emailed them and they said they would send it to me. They did and I got a great deal on a new mask. Much cheaper than if I had paid for it here.

A new advice board

I am thinking again. My wife says I should stop as it scares her, an usually costs us money. An idea I had is to have a separate advice board on this site. It is not easy sometimes to seperate the wheat from the chaff looking for specific advice. Also, quite often the same questions are asked repeat...

OSA and the problem with medical practitioners, DME's et al

My 2 cents worth. I believe that the major problem with the way we are treated by Doctors, DME's, sleep techs, etc is that the treatment they advocate is based on so few nights’ data. My experience was basically that I had two sleep studies. The first was to diagnose if I had OSA or not. The second ...

Welcome from me as well. The more people that know what they are talking about the better. It would be great to see you offer practical advice on solving people’s problems. Please don't be restrained by the thought police that believe we should not have any information or make any informed decisions...
