How to Use Soft Drinks To Kill Mice and Rats

By Janet Ford

Things You’ll Need:

* Pepsi or Coke

Step 1
Mice and rats lack the ability to burp. You can use this to your advantage - and the demise of the rats and mice.
Step 2
Pour pepsi or coke into a shallow dish.
Step 3
Place dish near where the mice or rats are entering/exiting your home frequently.
Step 4
The rodents will drink the sweet soft drink and later, when they can't burp, they will die.
Why do so many thing remind me about cpap-induced aerophagia?

IS THIS TRUE??? Can I get rid of rodents with Pepsi? Will the Squirrels explode if I feed it to them?

And what about... wait for it.... GOPHERS????

You know all us CaddyShack fans wanna know....

And what happens if you leave a trail of MENTOS leading up to the shallow dish of carbonated beverages and the rodents eat the Mentos and then drink the carbonated beverage???? Hmmmmmm???????

I smell a YouTube video coming on....

One thing we've all missed here, however... They may not BURP, but I'll bet they can FART!!!!

LOL,
Babs

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

We always were looking for natural ways to get rid of critters without chemicals when I had my horse business. I read that if you put out a shallow dish of instant mashed potato flakes mice will eat the flakes, drink water, expand and die. Problem I had with this was no matter where I tried to hide it my food monger Ladrador always found it so I never did find out if it worked.

So, who had enough time on their hands to actually find out if mice burp or not? And what kind of mind really cares?

The general consensus on Snopes is Urban Legend.

It seems that Rats can fart too.

More importantly, dogs can BELCH!!! (... wishing for clothespin-nosed emoticon here)

I have verified, with my own dog, that Labs can belch ...

Regards,
Bill (who is still wondering if it's true that rodents cannot belch ... )

Supposedly this is true of seagulls and alka seltzer as well. Could be an urban legend. Im an animal lover so I wouldnt know.

I do however remember reading an article a year ago about a guy who threw a mouse in a bonfire and he caught on fire and ran back under the house and burned it down.

Be careful with this experiment, if youre wrong you might just have a bunch of mice under your bed with really bad gas..

Damn.. scanned over Barrys post too quickly.. Joke was already made.

Yep Barry, I should have checked out Snopes first. For my trouble last night, this morning I was short about a liter of RC Cola and all the closets smelled like rat f***s.

Rat farts can't possibly come close to Labrador popcorn farts, now there's a really nasty odor.
