Re: My cholesterol level is better !!!
I saw the same results. Pre-Cpap, my cholesterol was in the 175-190 range. At my last checkup it was 155. I cannot say for certain it was the Cpap, but it was the only significant lifestyle change I had made. My diet and exercise were exactly the same.

There are many very good articles here that address this very subject. I hope the person in question is receptive and gets treatment.

Re: might my sleep test be humiliating?
As for me, I much prefer the humility of the sleep study to the pridefulness of the coffin! By the time I finally got there, I wanted the sleep study done so bad that I wouldn't have cared if they posted a video of me drooling into my pillow on YouTube. But the techs at the sleep center I went to we...

Please do! If you have OSA and are sleeping, you should be cpapping. You will feel better and last longer. And the world needs all the collie lovers it can get!

Re: Talk to Me about Tape
Here is post by Rooster on taping that covers the mechanics fairly well. Some people like the tape Pugsy suggested instead.

FWIW, I have had great luck with the Sleep Number bed. It costs a bunch and you do get motion transfer when your bed partner shifts position, but I have zero back pain now where I had mild to moderate lower back pain every morning for years. YMMV.

Re: Don't be a but(t)head!
While the Yabutts can be annoying, we should look upon them as an opportunity. Mr. Yabutt might reject our advice, but perhaps someone else will come along and see that same advice and be helped by it. Even a Yabutt might later realize they were being a knob and come back and find something that hel...

Re: I need help!
If you had the surgery after your sleep study, it is possible that your pressure needs have changed, probably increased, significantly. If it were me and money were not an issue, I would have a new sleep study done. This will give a brand new prescription which is required to buy machines and masks,...

Re: Call For Feedback: BioPAP Pros and Cons
I have to say that probably as a result of far too many hours spent watching Chiller-Horror-Monster Theater movies, the picture of the BioPap Duo at the bottom looked like some kind of alien/torture device. By positioning it the way they did to allow the viewer to see it better it gave it a sinister...

Re: re:New and some questions of course
Its not all bad news. If you have the proper mask selected in your menu, then the leak rate of 0.0 is very good. If not, either select the Swift LT or the "Standard" setting. Conquering leaks is one of the first big hurdles for people. It sounds like you are using your interface without much trouble...

Re: Sex with cpap user?
Cpapsleeppartner, Nothing has changed. Your husband still loves you, and intimacy and cuddling are still just as possible as they were before. Get him a mask with a quick disconnect. Let him know you are interested and you will be amazed at how quickly the mask will come off! And with CPAP you will ...

Re: Need help translating results
Sleepy, Make sure that you have either the correct Resmed mask you are using selected in the Clinician's menu, or if you are using a non-Resmed mask that you select "Standard" for your mask. Otherwise your leak data will be skewed. You data looks ok, it would be better to have your HI down a bit but...
