Rather than just throw it away...I would take it apart and see how it ticks!

But I'm geeky that way.

Re: Need Help A bit apprehensive

Cant imagine sleeping with a mask. Yikes Hey Mark, Honestly, it sounds worse than it really is. Remember the machine/mask is just pushing room AIR...all you have to do is relax and breathe it in. It isn't a struggle or somehow breathing for you. Everyone is different but if you are like I was at my...

I had a similar revelation a few years ago when I traveled to Argentina on business during the height of the countries financial/monetary crisis. At the time they had staggering unemployment numbers. One night after dinner in Buenos Aires I saw people going through a dumpster looking for cardboard. ...

Funny, I was just reading about Iron Lungs the other day. The article I read stated that they were very rarely used anymore due to Ventilators working just as well...not to mention the sheer size of the things. Can you imagine spending your life inside a box? Wow. I just read another story HERE abou...

Soooo, should I dispute the charge on my credit card? It will probably cost me my PayPal account, and will probably cost her account as well. In my opinion, it depends on how much you paid. If it was a lot of money, I would absolutely dispute the charge. I have had great luck with eBay & Paypal bot...

Re: Cannot adjust titration settings.

I can not adjust it and that I need to take it back to them if I ever need to adjust the setting. I have no intention on monkeying with the setting, but I want to know if this is true. Is it? I have been slowly tweaking my pressure and as a result have reduced my AI from over 4 to practically zero....

The bitterness on this board towards Resmed is quite amusing to me. At least Resmed knew, during the design stage, the machine would need a power supply and did not have to add a power brick as a after thought. Thats the main reason I went with Resmed (I travel a lot & love it!). Not to mention the...

You should be able to get the serial number through the "Servicing" menu on the screen along with the firmware version and PCB version.

Depending on who you ask, ResMed machines are either too sensitive and overscores hypopneas...or the others brands are not sensitive enough and underscore them. The fact that your AI is '0' is a great sign that you are on the right track though. Thanks to this site, I have been tweaking my pressure ...

Please note that this version of ResScan is the only version to support our new S8 Series II line.". Working for a software company as I do, the key word here is "Support". Software companies do not want to support multiple versions of anything. It means double the QA testing, double the support tr...

I just changed mine for the first time after 2 1/2 months of use and was a bit stunned at the amount of dust in it. I just bought a 12 pack and plan on changing it out every month from now on. They don't cost very much and your S8 can be configured to popup a filter change reminder on the screen as ...

Cruise ships have desalination plants on-board that make all the potable water on demand. Supposedly it is close to reverse osmosis water in quality.

I don't know that I would trust it however with all the food/water borne illness that seem to pop up on ships from time to time.

Re: Can You Help This Lady?

I have a work friend who has cancer. It started in her trachea and now is in an adrenal gland. She is still working, but she's been through chemo and all sorts of things. The cancer is gone from the trachea, but she is having a horrible time getting sleep, because, as she told me today, her airway k...
