Carrying bag for Resmed S8 Elite

Post by shardebhow » Mon Jan 28, 2008 5:21 pm

Did not receive one of the internal zippered cases for my cpap and humidifier. I checked with others and I should have had 2. One for each component. I have a call in to my DME looking for it. IF I do not get the additional one for some reason....does anyone have any suggestions for how to secure (padded) the machine in the bag during travel. I would probably use the one I do have for the humidifier. CPAP.com does not carry them.

I would think if the DME supplier refuses to provide one that a call or e-mail to Resmed would cause the DME supplier to provide one or even Resmed themselves might ship you one.

On the other hand, depends on whether you want to stir the DME supplier's pot or not. Somewhere here I have an extra Humidaire 3i case to fit in the carrying case. When I returned my Humidaire 3i to my sheister DME supplier I didn't take the case in too. My new Humidaire 3i came w/its carrying case and I didn't realize it and didn't feel inclined to return the extra to the sheister. Let me see if I can find where I stashed the extra. If I find it by tomorrow I'll PM you to let you know and then you can PM me your snail mail address and I will ship it out to you.

I don't know which internal bag you didn't get, but outside North America both the flow generator internal mesh bag and the humdifier internal mesh bag are essentially same size, leaving some extra storage room at the "front" of the shoulder bag, but as far as I can tell in North America the humidifier internal mesh bag is much larger, with extra padding that uses up the extra space at the front of the humidifier.

Anyway, I carry my S8 around in the Resmed Blue shoulder bag with two identically sized internal bags, and by the time I have the power cord and mask in the extra space inside my bag, there's no room for anything much to move around anyway, so I'm not sure the internal bags actually do much for me... but I countine to use them anyway!

Cheers,

Bill

The humidifier bag I got was much larger than the internal mesh bag for the flow generator - leaves no room at the front of the blue bag on the left side.

I must admit to being frustrated by the size of the two internal bags - they don't leave much space for the mask or anything else. Given that the humidifier cannot be used with other brands, I'd have thought that the bag for the humidifier should hold the combined unit (no-one is going to travel with just the humidifier are they?), which would mean that everything would fit much better.

My bag has 2 compartments: one for the cpap and one for the humidifer. They are both padded compartments. They don't seem "made for" these parts, but they work, and they protect my machine and humidifier when I travel.

Glad to hear it. Let me know if not tho. Since I use the Simplicity mask and there is so little to it, the Simplicity fits right in the carrying case. But a mask any larger would be in danger of being broken. The only xtra I have to carry is the distilled water.

I got the carrying case and inside bags from my DME when I got my S8.

The inside compartment bag for my H-3i has padding like the shape of the tank.

I coil the hose in a large freezer bag and squeeze out the air keeping the coil flat and it slides into the outside pocket. My Swift II mask barely fits inside with the S8 and H-3i, plus an extension cord.
