Re: pink slime in tank?
Even if I' thoroughly disinfect the tank and hose, is the machine itself compromised? I have this feeling all kinds of germs are just floating around in there. Is there any way to clean the machine, or just not worry about it?

Re: pink slime in tank?
What makes the slime pink? Biofilm is typically composed of many different microorganisms and bacteria held together by biological polymers that improve the ability of bacteria to adhere to and proliferate on wet surfaces. While pink biofilm "usually does not cause any illness in healthily adults, ...

pink slime in tank?
I noticed pink slime in the bottom of my tank today. I always use distilled water. I wash with regular dish soap every week, and I did a vinegar/water soak a few weeks ago. I soaked again with vinegar today and scooped out the slime with a toothpick. Is this safe to use now? (I feel like I'm coming ...

Mask or tubing "crackling"?
Hi. My mask or tube just started crackling last night. I can't figure out where the noise is coming from. It happens if I breathe or move around. Any suggestions? I can't really describe it any better.

Can I leave my cpap out in the cold?
I have to go on a business trip the next few days. Is it OK to leave my CPAP in the car all day in the cold Indiana weather? We're near freezing right now.

Re: Nose Itches
I don't know how to get it stop, but others have suggested that you use a wooden popsicle stick to scratch. Just lift up the mask slightly and stick the stick under it. It doesn't disturb much or for long, and it does the trick. Works for me though I too wish I could figure out how to stop it the fi...

More cost-effective to rent vs. buy CPAP?
Does anyone have any experience with outright buying a CPAP vs. renting? My insurance made me rent for 3 months before they will allow me to buy it. I've asked the insurance co. and the DME if it's more cost effective to buy vs. rent to buy, and I can't get a straight answer. My sleep doc said they ...

Re: A couple of days with RemZzz's (a review of sorts)
Thanks to this forum I found out about REMZZZs. I've used them the past 4 nights to protect my skin. I was allergic to my Mirage Liberty so I didn't want to take any chances when I switched to the Quattro. So far so good and I've used the same sheet for the four nights. The material looks like cotto...

Re: Hypops only??????
My sleep lab results showed 17 hypops per hour with no apneas, and my sleep doc made me get the machine. Since getting the machine, I run about 1 apnea/1 hypop per hour. Obviously I need to be on it.

Re: PapCAP HAS ARRIVED IN THE MAIL--AND IT WORKS!
I wished my PAPCAP had worked for me; I just returned it. I don't breathe from my mouth, I just have mouth leaks and it couldn't keep my lips together. It was really cute and I wished it worked. Unfortunately, I had to move on to FFM which is causing problems of its own.

If a small pillow is too big, will anything help?
I found out the Liberty doesn't make an XS pillow, and the small is too big for my right nare. Will Ayers Saline gel or lanolin help even if the pillow is too big? I only have a few days left to make a decision on this mask before I need to return it to the DME. I know the cremes and gels can work f...

Re: Not Snoring, Whistling
My Liberty whistles and I have to keep adjusting it until I stops. LOVE the comment about your wife's sensitivity to the ants next door. I'll have to share that with my family--oh, so TRUE.

One pillow hurts one spot in one nare
So I've been using the Liberty for 9 nights now, and have a sore spot in my right nostril just along my septum. I haven't tried any gels or lansinoh because I'm afraid I'll be allergic to it, and wanted to make sure I wasn't allergic to the mask first. (I am but that's a different story.) Anyway, I ...
