REMstar Pro 2 C-Flex...or...M Series with C-flex

Post by johnnysleep » Thu Nov 29, 2007 2:17 pm

I have been using the Remstar Plus with C-flex. Time to upgrade. I cannot tell any advantage to the M-series unit over the old box, Remstar Pro 2. Can anyone enlighten me. The M series LOOKS more modern but is a bit heavier and ever so slightly noisier. BTW, will be using humidifier and live in the mountains. Any user thoughts? Thank you for helping me make the right purchase.

I use an M-series with A-flex and can't hear anything but the exhaust of the mask. I use a Mirage Swift II Pillow system interface.

Without the humidifier, the base unit is pretty simplistic looking with the display under cover and the hose outlet being on the back. Asthetically, it looks like a big alarm clock or something. With the humidifier, it looks like maybe a room air purifier, which is still not bad. If asthetics are your goal.

I can't speak to older units since I am new to CPAP, but from what I read before receiving my unit, I am more than pleased with the results. NOTHING like what I thought a CPAP would be like (bulky, noisy, ugly).

My choice is the Old Style Classic, I feel they are more heavy duty, and they give data every night, if you remember to put the card back in.

The HH works better too. I would go for the APAP model, for the extra options it offers. I have the APAP and the Pro 2, Classics, the Pro 2 will get the job done in good style, but the APAP can let you use less pressure when you need it, either way you get good treatment when you add in the software and reader your ready to go.
