uses for old cpap hoses???

Post by jomac30 » Mon Oct 29, 2007 2:33 pm

My insurance covers a new hose each month. I'm trying to find a good use for my old ones. Any ideas?
I hate just tossing them in the trash.

why change it every month. I just got rid of my first of 2 (I alternate) since it was too loose on the connection.

Either don't get a new one every time, or if they are free, sell the excess.

they fit perfectly on your Makita 5" ROS if you remove the bag, you have to make an adapter for the other end to fit your shop vac.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

They make good small boat fenders.

The next time the agents from a former soviet block are chasing you, grab the hose, then hide in the reeds using the hose to breath through, you should be safe that way.

Next time you dont like the price at the gas pumps, grab your hose, find a parked car in an unlit section of the street, and use it to siphon free gas.

If you have young kids or grandkids, they would make great water toys!

I dunno, if RestedGal hasn't figgered out a practical use for these old used CPAP hoses and ... one of our crafter ladies hasn't figgered out an artistic use for these used CPAP hoses ... and only one of our "shop tinkerer" guys, SnoreDog, has come up for any use for them ... sounds pretty hopeless to me. Would they even be welcome in a recycle bin??? Some plastics are.

I second the don't get a new one until there is something wrong with an old one. I hate the new plastic smell personally and I don't want to contribute to all of the plastic waste (and the petroleum necessary to create new plastic).

You could glue them next to each and then when you have groups that are 5 or 6 wide, glue thos on top of each other to make condo's for snakes.

If it catches on we could market them as Boa Constructors...

I perfer to save the Earth, no I don't hug trees. I just don't waste. I keep a spare for everything, just in case but I don't waste.

You could take them and run Xmas lights inside them, (the small kind) and use them on the Xmas tree. Jim Just make sure they don't get too hot.

This is another (small) example of why our insurance costs are out of control in this country.
DME is probably charging the insurance $60 for a $10 hose. That's $720 a year for ONE person. Multiply that by 10's of thousands (or more).

I'm still using my original hose after 2 1/2 years. I have a couple of spares that I purchased out-of-pocket, but they're still essentially unused (maybe a couple of times for one of them). When the end that fits over the humidifier starts getting a little loose, I flip it (switch ends).

From what I've read, the costs of the filters (from a DME) are astronomical, too.

Use it to whip your DME into not sending you anymore unless you specifically ask for one.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

New hoses

Post by Arizona-Willie » Tue Oct 30, 2007 8:14 am

I tell my DME < every > time that I do NOT need or want a new hose nor do I want a new shell for the hybrid ( or other mask ) ... only the cushion and nose gizmos.

Package comes and there is a new hose and a new shell and new cushions and new nose gizmos.

Complete package every time no matter what I order.

Medicare pays so they don't give a damn what I want or need.

I've been thinking of going back to lab and getting new copy of prescription and ordering from cpap and dropping the brick and mortar DME locally.

You could glue the hoses to a scary mask and have a super scary halloween mask. If you could figure it out, you could have a red liquid in the hose. I'd make a cover on the ends, then glue to the mask.
