My BEST Christmas Present EVER !!!!!!

Post by lvwildcat » Wed Oct 24, 2007 9:09 am

After almost 2 years of doctor visits...it's official. My laporscopic Gastric Bypass surgery will happen(hopefully) on December 6th. Merry Christmas to me!!! Everyone send my good karma on that day!!!!!!! I have 2 GREAT surgeons(and I'm an ICU RN) so not worried in that area(ok maybe a teeny bit because there can be complications with even simplest surgery). But prayers and thoughts appreciated!!!

lvwildcat, that is wonderful! "Congrats" I wish you all the luck it's about time is all I can say, why did it take so long? Did it have to get approved/A fight with your Ins. Co. ? I am waiting to hear from my Dr's office to get the septum surgery, they don't like to call people back, lol

Some procrastination on my part;then insurance requires 6 straight months of doctor's visits;the nutrition consult;psychological consult;and other tests(yes,my surgeon is very thorough) is what took so long. And I recently found out that despite excellent medical insurance my out of pocket co-pay is $2,000!!! So I really wasn't kidding when I called this my Christmas present...but hey,I am SOOO worth it !!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats and I hope you have worked out the food issues as well. I do know people that had they bypass and lost weight but still managed to gain it back.
I have considered having that done myself so keep us informed. By the way do you ever watch BIG MEDICINE on TV?
