What my DME billed vs. what insurance paid...

Post by jaybee72 » Sun Oct 21, 2007 6:41 pm

Ok, I just got the "Explanation of Benefits" from BCBS for my cpap equipment. I got a Resmed S8 Elite with HH and Activa mask along with 3 months' filters. Here is what the EOB shows:

charged - allowed - provider responsibility
325.00 - 210.85 - 114.15
1410.00- 671.54 - 738.46
16.50 - 11.22 - 5.28
40.00 - 27.92 - 12.08
totals
1791.50- 921.53 - 869.97

I'm guessing the first one is the humidifier, the second the flow generator, the third the 3 filters, and the last the mask - but just guessing.

The most important part is all the zeros in the parts titled "You Owe"! I'm so glad I got to use the 100% DME coverage on this insurance before I switch to Aetna on November 1!
