Post by mel334 » Wed Oct 03, 2007 8:11 pm

I have the Resmed S7 Lightweight need manual and codes so I can change pressure etc. Does anyone have them?

Spooky, thanks for the link on how to get information out of the S8 Elite, I,m new to sleep apnea and want to find out all I can. When I got into the efficiancy data menu, it showed
pressure----11
leak ----0.38 L/S
AHI -----15.1
AI -----3.1
HI -----12.0

And in the useage menu it showed useage :0005/0009

And the only thing I undertood about all that was my pressure setting of 11. If any one can unravell all theese numbers I would greatly apreciate it. And what do the letters stand for also,AHI, AI, HI, and explain usage. Yes I'm a rookie and don't understand any of it, but thanks for any help.

1] Well, that pressure of 11 cms is the pressure at or below which you spent 95% of the night. So it isn't necessarily the pressure your machine is set at.
2] AI is the apnea index (how many apneas per hour you had that night).
3] HI is the hypopnea index (how many hypopneas per hour you had that night).
4] And the AHI is the apnea/hypopnea index (how many apneas and hypopneas you had per hour that night). You add the AI and the HI to get the AHI.
5] The amount of air leaking from your mask is .38 litres per second and that isn't too bad. These machines are very good at compensating for relatively high leak rates.
6] The Usage is showing that its been 9 nights since you first used this CPAP. And this one I'm not sure on: either the 5 nights are the 5 nights you've used your CPAP more than 4 hours or you have only used your CPAP 5 nights out of the 9 nights since you first used it. Its your Compliance data. That's the "tattle tale" data. The only data your DME supplier & insurance company are usually interested in. If you hit the Down button from the Usage data w/the 0005/0009 you'll get more data that tells you how many actual hours of use on our machine and one more Down arrow and you'll get the numbers of hours you used it that night.

Slinky,
thanks for all the help, that's a great explanation of all the menu data. Now I'll be able to check all this for myself on a daily baisis and know what every thing means.
And also thanks for your quick reply, it realy means a lot having people like you to ask questions and get great information, and just having this forum to come to for any sleep apnea related help. Thanks again,

Duke

Yer welcome. I happen to be very fond of my Resmeds! Enjoy! There are a lot more CPAP and even Resmed savvy folks in this forum than I am so feel free to ask away. Someone will get back to you w/an answer or advice or suggestion.
