Minimum RAM to run Encore Software

Post by ibthebest » Sun Sep 09, 2007 8:32 pm

Anyone know what the minimum RAM would be. How much do those of you have that are running 1.8i? I have 480mg with a Sempron processor 3200 and having problems.

I have no idea what your running, but I swallow pills as bigger than your ram. I've never seen ram sold by weight. Win XP, needs 512 MB, qand wants all that it can find. It's the operating system that wants memory, if the hardware can't handle the OS, It ain't going to fly. I don't know how far down the Windows Food Chain, Encore Pro 1.8i will go, I'm GUESSING Win 98SE, any older than that and it not a computer. Jim

480 MG or MB, isn't a valid ram size, Ram Comes in 4,16,32,64,128,512 MB flavors, and of course the good stuff in GB. Your number doesnt fit any known configeration. Jim

Jim,

It MAY be..... Some computers like Dell, use shared RAM for their video.

480 MB + 32 MB shared for the on board graphics = 512.

Please tell me that you aren't running XP with that amount of RAM.

Is that too much?......or not enough.....

I don't have any machines (either at home or at work) with more than 512 and they do just fine. (a number of them with only 256 mb of RAM)
It all depends on how much "junk" a person has running in the background, how often they clean out their Temporary Internet Files or Defrag their hard drives.

I tried it on my boys "DeLL", then I threw it in the trash and gave him my old MoneyPit III, put 1 GB in it. Now he's got a real computer even is it's still 3 years behind. Jim

MoneyPit I & II, are still heating my Cave.
