Bipap Adjustments & New Mask

Post by bakerboy » Sun Sep 09, 2007 7:45 pm

Last week I saw my Sleep Dr. and he wrote An RX to Change my machine from 18-10 To 18-12. The sleep machine provider adjusted my machine and I picked up a new Respironics Gel Mask, the new mask has wider straps and seems to fit better and feels much better.

That evening and every night after I sleep much better, I have not waken up as often and I am much less tired.

Several questions.

1. What are these settings?

2. Did the machine cause this improvment or was the mask change the cause or was it both changes?

3. Prior to thses changes I ran out of gas every day about three PM.

Your thoughts please. Thanks

What he's done is to change your minimum exhale pressure to 12 if you're running it in auto mode. Otherwise he just changed your exhale pressure.

I can't answer what exactly caused the change for you... the machine or the mask. That's the whole deal with changing more than 1 thing at a time... it's hard to narrow down what actually made the difference.
