M series setup menu?
M series setup menu?
Anyone know this?
Does the Respironics M series Pro use the same technique to get into the setup menu as the older REMstar Pro 2 and Auto CPAP?
I know how the older units work: hold down <> arrows while plugging in the cord .... wait for 2 beeps. Is that procedure the same for the later M series machines?

Yes, Lineman, the procedure is the same. Welcome to the forum. I hope you learn here as much as I have!

I do so love to breath!
Thank you, extremeliver.
Breathing is certainly high on my priority list too.
My REMstar is having problems and the contract provider (dealer) is considering swaping it out for the newer M series Pro. If they do, I wanted to know if I would have access to the therapy menu as I do with the "Classic" model.

After you having an auto... I'd press them for another auto, before going to a pro

There is no setting for "auto on". I've experienced various levels of sensitivity with my machines from time to time.odawa wrote:I have a question. I really liked that feature.
Make sure that you have no leaks in the connections and try to force a little extra air through the mask/line. I see you have a nasal mask.....don't know what other advice to give you at the moment, other than maybe disconnecting the mask at the hose and see if blowing back through the hose will make it auto start (for testing purposes).

The auto start is a setting that can be set up by the DME. Or you. To get to those settings, plug in the unit as you are pressing the two arrow buttons until you hear the two beeps. Be careful not to change any other settings by accident.odawa wrote:I have a question. Before I went camping, my machine would auto-start when I put the mask on a breathed, now it doesn't. The odd thing is; Why did it work before camping, but doesn't now. If the auto start is already set to on, then maybe Wulfman is correct that you may have a leak issue.
Good luck!

No..... The Auto On feature is not selectable.....it's essentially a safety (and convenience) feature in case the machine should happen to shut off during the night (like if the Auto Off / Patient alert should happen to shut it off with a large leak or a brief power outage) and (theoretically) should restart the machine by breathing in the mask.extremeliver wrote:The auto start is a setting that can be set up by the DME. Some larger masks (like the UMFF) with a larger interior area are a little problematic about doing the Auto Start.

I agree with cflame that you want to stick with an Auto. I don't know what therapy the "classic" gives you, but the M series gives you 7 and 30 day average info on AHI's, leaks and usage time.Lineman wrote:My REMstar is having problems and the contract provider (dealer) is considering swaping it out for the newer M series Pro. Wulfman.../Den is correct. I just looked it up in the manual. I was tinking of the auto-OFF feature. Sorry for the misinformation.Wulfman... wrote:No..... Well, I guess that sorta answers that question.....odawa wrote:Yes I did and it didnt work. It used to start with just the slightest breath. I was really huffing on it last nite. Now I have to push the button for it to start.
Maybe it didn't like the camping trip.....and now is trying to tell you..... "Ewwww, I'm not the outdoorsie type".
Good luck,
