I use a pap-cap to keep my jaw from dropping at night, and that helps with leaks.
I haven't tried either the Air or the F10 yet but would like to!

Re: Low AHI, only hypopneas, could CPAP be worthwhile anyway?
I had an AHI over 30 but they were all hypopneas and no desats below 92%, and CPAP has made a HUGE difference.... once I fixed the mouth breathing.
What mask do you use? Do you have some data/graphs you can post?

Re: suggestions for a teenager
I'd definitely get him in for a sleep study. If he has apnea, you will want to get a prescription too. I was snoring like a trucker as a teenager and didn't get diagnosed until I was 30. So many wasted years. But I never had desats below 92% so a pulse-ox by itself woukd not have been particularly i...

Re: Sleep apnea vs Non-24
I have osa and dsps (that may or not be turning into n24 as i get older). I had initially hoped that cpap would fix the dsps, but no such luck.

Re: Doc told me most people aren't interested in data
I get told by friends & doctors that I'm too "obsessed" with charting and tracking my data (and not just for cpap). Ugh. As if the stick-your-head-in-the-sand approach yields such excellent results.

And technically OSA is not a circadian rhythm disorder.

Re: Sleep apnea vs Non-24
Here is info on N24: http://www.circadiansleepdisorders.org/docs/N24-QandA.php It affects both blind and sighted people. It is a circadian rhythm disorder where your body clock is longer than 24 hours so essentially you wake up and go to sleep later and later every day. You can also join the niteowl...

You might also want to do a test run at home without the humidifier to make sure you can handle it. When I first got my machine they refused to give me a humidifer and it was hell.

Lovely!! After a trip to the mountains a few years ago, I really came to appreciate and enjoy them. I'm tempted to move to CO - friends of ours have retired out there and they love it.

Re: PR System One Resistance Control for Comfort or Therapy?
I will keep looking for it...hard to do with the forum search function and I don't remember who it was that explained it. Going via google search often works well. Just add "site:cpaptalk.com" to the end of the search string, and you can usually find what you're looking for quite quickly. I find th...

Re: How Long Do Machines Really Last?
My 2 puritan bennet 420Es each lasted about 10,000 blower hours or about 3 years. The 2nd one would have gone longer but a stupid plastic piece, critical to its functioning, broke off. Recently I repaired the 1st one - it was a blower problem that magically fixed itself after disassembling and reass...

Re: Frustrated
And I heartily recommend Sleepguy's PAP-CAP. It's a 1000x better than a chin strap and helps keep your jaw shut. I mouth breath with FFMs because my jaw falls open, and the pap-cap keeps it shut and prevents dry mouth.
I love his pur sleep oils too - Clear is my fave and I use it most nights. <3 <3

Re: Newbie - anyone gone through American Sleep Apnea Assoc?
You can also call cpap.com to get their actual prices (rather than the manufacturer's price). For the PR system 1 Auto, the difference is not negligible and brought the price into the reasonable range for me. I got my backup cpap on ebay a few years ago and was happy with it. Just check the total bl...
