Mask Makes Me Look Young Again

Post by Sleeping With The Enemy » Tue Apr 12, 2005 8:00 pm

No really, this mask, the Activa, is making my forehead break out in zits big time. I look like I'm 15 again.

Has anyone had this same problem and if so, is there a fix???

I'm suppose to be getting lots of BEAUTY REST now with my Remstar Auto with C-Flex, but I'm waking up looking worse than when I went to bed

I'm baffled!

Are you washing your face/mask nightly?

Yes, I wash both mask and face every single night....I wonder if it just bugs my forehead to have that forehead resting piece on there all night?

I wanna be a wiseass, but....

Is it possible you've got some odd allergy? I know they don't make the masks out of latex, because latex allergy is very common, but did you ever have this problem with any other mask? Particularly, have you ever used the Ultra Mirage, which has the same sort of forehead piece?

The two thoughts which come to mind are that you're allergic to what ever is in the head piece, or your room is slightly too warm, and with something against your head, you're sweating in the night and causing the outbreak.

Then again, I'm not a doctor, so the two things which came to mind may bear little resemblance to reality.

Liam, who thinks reality is over-rated anyway.

Its only since I started using the Activa, which I love... The Ultra Mirage never did that. You can see a bilateral area right above my eyebrows. Very strange. I wonder if I put on some kind of anti-acne lotion before I went to bed if it would deter the zits.......

Did you get to use the Activa for any time without the zits appearing?
Can you try to soak the forhead piece in warm soapy water for about 30 to 60 mins? Sometime mask material has leftovers on it from the factory, and the soak gets rid of it.

The break outs pretty much coincided with the Activa start....

I have soaked the mask several times, I use baby soap.

This is really bumming me out

I usually have a pretty good complexion and consider myself a pretty girl. People usually guess me about 10 years younger than I really am! So this really sucks, seriously. It is enough just to have to wear the hideous looking thing at night but to have after effects is just upsetting me more.

I consider myself a homely man, but...

If I have irritation it is usually because I didn't wash my (expansive) forehead well enough. Maybe due to the contact with the pad, your skin is being especially generous with its oil production. Maybe just a Kleenex between the forehead pad and your lovely forehead? Seems to help me.

I used to have the same problem till I switched to my new FULL HEAD MASK. It doesn't even TOUCH my face! It is a little hard on pillows though...Image

Tried that one, it leaves a ring around your shoulders that doesn't go away all day...
