I met with my new sleep doctor yesterday. Finally found one that (may be) competent. Although tests have showed I have an AHI of .6 with my APAP and am 100% compliant, I still sleep 14-16 hours/day. Attaching a pulse oximeter while using my APAP shows that I have almost no events. However, according to my new doc, she thinks that my apnea may still not be controlled sufficiently, that I may have UARS as well, and that I may need a bipap.
My questions:
(1) How is UARS different from apnea?
(2) Is treatment for UARS the same as that for apnea and/or is treatment for apnea sufficient to treat UARS?
(3) What is the difference between APAP with C-Flex different from bipap and how would going from an APAP to bipap make any difference?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Sarah
