Why are ResMed amd Respironics so fixated on making mask names as confusing as possible?

What's next? Ultra Mirage Quattro Swift FX II?

You can just imagine what confusion this will set off? I can see it now!

I use the Quattro that is currently available here, as my backup mask. I hate the forehead piece however. It will be interesting to read the reviews once the Fx version comes out. I wonder if the Fx version is made to "float" on the face and be loosely attached the way the current Quattro is.

After checking out that Quattro Fx , It got me interested, I e mail my DME, she looked into it and got back to me. She told me to check back in December, it will eventually be available here.

....well....gee...according to the vids......
just adjust the straps....it's as easy as that.

.....oh, wait .......must sit mid bridge.....not to high or too low.....

head gear must be positioned correctly....
"no shit, LeRoy" .....been there, done that......

straps must be aligned correctly
not to far forward and not too far back....
or too long or too short.......

oh,... ask the clinician to help ......
...yea, they're on 24/7 because of the prices they charge .....

if you have leaks .....just adjust the straps.

..... oh no, still leaks, get up and turn off the device
and refit w/the swing and seal method.....
... wait, I already use that w/my UM.... figured that out myself ....
...guess the clinician was helping other hose heads at the time I called....
.. but I'm sure my call was important ......
..... oh, wait, my insc. tagged me w/a $250/deduct. for DME.......
I don't use the clinician anymore.....crap......

Don't slid it down or around your face.....
or the cushion will fold or curl.......
...man, I hate it when that happens.

...well, geewizz....that was just that easy.

CBman, I've just got to know, what's the "swing and seal" method?

Placing the top of the mask against the mid-bridge of the nose, and then swinging the mask down over the mouth.

Thanks, we've been "swingin and sealin" all this time and never knew it!

I got one of these on Friday. Finally living in Australia has its advantages for once.

I was using a F&P 432 but having to put tape on my nose every night to stop the skin breaking down was really becoming a nuisance. When I went to buy a new mask (Mirage Quattro) I was told this mask was soon to be released. Got the call to say it was in and picked it up 3 days ago.

This is the most comfortable mask I have ever used. I now have no breakdown of the skin on my nose and can crawl into bed half asleep and just put it on without tape or hassles. The headgear is great once adjusted and there is nothing else to fiddle with. A sizing gauge was included in the box which offered the perfect fit.

Not having the forehead strap means you do need the headgear a little tighter but this mask still offers the float on your face effect. The silicone where the mask sits on the nose is also a little thinner than on the rest of the mask seal to provide extra comfort at that pressure point.

Over all this was the easiest mask fitting I have had. Hopefully it will solve some problems for others as well.

Auto 8-12cm. Average pressure is 9cm.
Not sure how it would go on a higher pressure. Guess I could try it out if anyone is interested.

I would be interested in whether or not you can keep it from leaking and whether or not it would be painful on your nose at the highest pressure you can stand. I wonder if you would be willing to try it, even without sleeping, at the max just to see whether it leaks badly? The pain on the nose thing would be more difficult to answer, I suspect.
