Re: Sleep apnea patient abandonment? Anyone experienced it?

OH YEAH. Until i got a neurologist who was a sleep director. If it wasnt "in an out see ya".......it was total absolute incompetence. Most sleep tests dont really give you the exact data you need. Thus, its a process of experience that you have to use. You have to become your own Doctor on this one ...

Re: Can someone please help me

1. im sorry about this problem, but you need to be aggressive about your own care. 2. sleep studies can be notoriously misleading at times for certain people. I didnt get a reliable sleep test until my fifth try. Most people dont sleep well in a strange place or highly dosed with sleeping pills. 3. ...

Probably not.

Doctors want to be told what they want to hear.

Re: Hpw long before CPAP made you feel better?

About 30 minutes. The flow of air was most welcome when i'd been struggling to pull enough down. I wish I'd had an s9 at the time, they seem to do breathing assist pretty well. As far as curing my seriuosly messed up nervous system, it wasnt until i hit bipap that i stopped having apneas almost alto...

Re: fingers tingling

Nobodys giving medical advice hopefully, just possible research the OP can do. Tingling fingers could certainly be related to non compliance, IMHO, because lots of people who are on cpap are actually non compliant no matter WHAT your ahi numbers are telling you. I was compliant on cpap a long time, ...

Explanation? First Night Nasal Mask = Big Improvement

My usual fullface quattro fx went out, so i used an old backup nasal mask id never used and prepared for the worst. I should note I have a severe deviated septum, and severe swollen nasal sinuses usually, a mouth breather. So Im struggling to breathe and keep my mouth shut, theres just tiny airways ...

Mask Straps, Jerry Rigging

I use a fullface Resmed AIR mask. Unfortunately, my adjustable mid-bridge-nose quattro FX wore out- and i lost the extra clamp-down alongside my nose. The AIR is fairly noisy, but when i get a good seal it works well enough. I've noticed through the years that becoming a good mask strap jerry-rigger...

Periodic Breathing Exponentially More Important Than AHI?

Ive been at this over 3 years, and I maintain that AHI is comparatively unimportant compared to Periodic Breathing. Perhaps this is in particular a BIPAPers sentiment. At this point I can wake up and tell EXACTLY what kind of night i had. I can predict all the numbers. AHI can be 7.3 and if PB is be...

Re: Using CPAP for two weeks and more tired than ever.

DONT QUIT. Just because you are getting some BAD results doesnt mean youre getting BAD information. Everything means something and is a potential clue. True story: I was put on cpap and had good numbers consistently. However sleepyhead revealed a constant problem with vibratory snore. What many peop...

Have you run tests for clots?

Do you possibly have some periodic paralysis, and need potassium, electrolytes?

Is there blood pooling going on and dysautonomic issues?

Have you had titration?

I started doing it when cleveland clinic ticked me off with foreigners who didnt get the nuances of english
and only looking at AHI.

DUMPED.
