Pompom,

I was diagnosed with PLMS at my sleep study (58 per hour) on top of apneas and hypopneas. Doesn't make for a good nights sleep. My doctor put me on Neurotin and it has really helped. My legs used to hurt when I sat for very long, especially riding in a car. Just could not find a comfortable position, always moving and stretching (tightening calf muscles) to get some relief. Now I can ride for over 2 hours without problems, and I am sleeping much better at night. Can actually wake up and feel rested, something I could not do before the Neurotin and apap. If you have not tried it, ask your doctor about it. It works great for me.

Good Luck,
Gilda

My PLM Analysis showed:
Number = 61
Index = 13.0

Is this considered serious?

I was prescribed Mirapex and seems to help.

Newsgrouper,
I cannot answer your question. All I know is that mine was 58 and the doctor put me on meds. IMO, I would assume that any number that keeps you form getting the sleep you need would warrant some type of medical attention.

Gilda,.............. No doctor, just full of opinions!!

Mirapex is my cure for this, three a day and I'm fine, miss one and it starts up again.

I take Requip at 0.50 mg about an hour before I go to bed. Seems to work pretty well although occasionally it takes me awhile to fall asleep. Not sure if that is related to the Requip though.

The doctor told me I have this also. I moved and jerked so much in my sleep that the leads that went to my legs came off while I was sleeping. I told them my husband says I jump on the bed at night when he's trying to sleep. I had to get my own bed and then my own room so he can get some sleep. He's a chronic insomniac who is fanatical about how many hours and minutes of sleep he gets. If you wake him up 10 minutes early it ruins his whole day. Don't you dare keep him awake after his bedtime. (Maybe he needs a sleep study too.) Well, I can have flowered wallpaper and curtains if I want now. Nobody's to say I can't go see him during visiting hours though.
