Post by sleepyhead63 » Mon Feb 14, 2011 11:50 am

I am going to dr. today to get a script for a new machine. I am thinking about going with the s9 series. Is any one better than the other in this series. What would you get and what is the differences?

Go to this website and click on specifications. This lists all the S-9 differences.

You can go to this website http://www.sleepnation.tv/ , go to episode 8 this explains all the features of the S-9.

Best Regards

S9 Autoset; hands down. Avoid anything that says 'escape' anywhere on the machine.
Cpap.com (our host site) has complete info on the machines.
Look the machine over carefully before you accept it.
Some providers are sneaky. -just sayin'

If you go w/an S9 the Elite is a fully data capable CPAP and the AutoSet is a fully data capable autro titrating CPAP (an APAP). You should be happy w/either one of these two.

Be careful. You do NOT want the Escape Auto. It is NOT the same as the AutoSet!

S9 Autoset is the best because it has the features of all of them... if they are unwilling to let you get an auto machine, the Elite is the top of line CPAP-only. Avoid either model with Escape in the name.

Thank you so much for info and in such a timely manner. I think i will go with the s9 autoset. I currently have the s8 autoset but been having problems with it. sounds to me like the motor is going bad. still works but doesn't sound good.

I called my insurance about it and they told me they will spring for a new one, been 4 yrs. for the s8 auto. I think i may try to get the s8 repaired somewhere and use as backup. Any good inexpensive repair shops?
