I have solutions

Post by UPSET IN TEXAS » Tue Apr 05, 2005 2:32 pm

I was just informed by the admin that I apparently am taking advantage of this site because I want to make people aware that I have developed a new product for CPAP users like myself with skin irritation problems. Now if they are upset becaue I havent paid them money, then they are the ones that are not allowing me to contribute to the CPAP community. So sorry guys, I am not going to pay you anything to let people know there is a solution to their problem.
I am a vendor that does care about those that have the same problem that I do....
So those that want info can email me at cward1121@hotmail.com or visit the web site at http://www.cg-labs.com where we are setting up a page to give you the info you will need concerning the product. Please email the info website with your questions.
I look forward to hearing from you soon....
MUCH BETTER N TEXAS with SLEEP EZ

Do you not grasp that the people at CPAP.COM run this site, at their own expense, just so that we have this place to discuss our problems?

It's totally reasonable of them to ask that we not advertise their competitors on this board, it's about the only requirement I've seen here.

(Not to mention that they've proven to be helpful, reputable, and about the least expensive source for most of the things we need, anyway).

Stop trying to slip things by them. If you want a free place to advertise, then set up a web server of your own, for the good of the community, at your own expense, and then see how YOU feel about other people using YOUR money to advertise competing products.

Liam, who understands economics in ways this clown apparently does not.

Oh, and for everyone else who APPRECIATES what cpap.com does for us, don't buy from this guy.

At best he's clueless, at worst he's a "make a quick buck" sort who doesn't really care about us, as much as he might say he does anyway.

Liam, annoyed.

Here's a link to the "mean forumadmin post". So mean in fact that the forumadmin says that he is welcome to continue posting freely as long as each post isn't aimed right at making a buck- sure sounds evil indeed.

No I wasnt aware that it was run by CPAP.com. And you are right, if its their expense I am sorry for coming across the way I did. You are all right, I was just trying to help out. I to am a CPAP user and not trying to make a quick buck. I have just seen many people on here with the same problem as me and have tried the same things that I have. So Liam, dont buy the product. It really is ok to me. I was just trying to help those that are and were like me, RED FACED from irritation.
So Sorry CPAP.com.....will not make any more post on here....we will keep selling the product as we have been...

Hmmmm. OK, then I'm sorry for barking the way I did. We HAVE in the past had folks show up and just try to advertise their services, often knowing fully what they were doing.

I recall one post which basically said "Visit our site, joescpapcrap.com (or whatever) for the cheapest CPAP supplies", and the admins were quite right to clamp down on that one (especially if one checked out the site for curiosity's sake, and discovered that it was pretty much more expensive and poorer selection, from people we didn't know).

But anyway, sorry to have snapped at you.

Liam, slightly snappish.

Liam, there was nothing wrong in snapping.

We here are rather defensive about our forum, aren't we? We're proud of it, and we're proud that the administrators are as inclusive as possible in order to welcome a wide range of folks. We get an amazing number of hits, mostly from people who never even post, but who are seeking information and encouragement and can find it here. We want to inform as many people as possible with the hopes they get their diagnosis and treatment as early as possible. We are defensive, protective of our forum. So if we bark sometimes, it's with good intent.

upset in texas,

SORRY Charlie, I DON't buy your denial of not knowing that this forum was provided by the great folks at cpap.com. If you have even been on this forum for 1 hour and read some of the posts then you KNEW that cpap.com was the provider of this forum. If you haven't read any of the posts then you don't know if any of us have a problem requiring your so called invention. So which is it? Read or not? Either way, it just don't wash with me.

So Liam, don't apologize. Sounds like a quick buck scheme to me.

I am hoping that, site sponsorship notwithstanding, nobody is going to hold back in providing honest information.

As to the dude with irritation strips, it looks like the admin simply asked him not to spam multiple threads, and he was asked openly, So that's cool on both sides.

So, in the spirit of free speech and this being a community forum (and not just a corporate shill-fest which even our sponsors do not want, I think) how about a rousing discussion of alternatives to CPAP?
I think it makes me look like a dashing scuba diver, don't you?

Very good points SailorBoy.
I also think that as a public forum, anyone is free to post anything related to CPAP or OSA in general. You should also be free to recommend any product or merchant as you wish.
The admin so nicely warned of multiple threads and "real" product.
I have come to be a "cpap.com" customer because of their service and prices, not what they tell me to do on this forum (which they have never done that).
This forum is also part of their service as far as I am concerned.
So, No BARK from me
I don't do mornings !!!

"many things" in Texas,

Why don't you offer some FREE samples of your product to anyone on this forum interested in trying it out. If it is as good as you say, you will get all the good "press" you could ask for in the form of satisfied users passing along the good news. Please realize though that as a group of informed users we are very skeptical of unsubstantiated claims so it will have to provide good results to get any recomendations.
Sincerely,
wading thru the muck of the sleep study/DME/Insurance money pit!

Good point Wader.

And who knows, maybe even land a big deal with a reputable dealer like CPAP.com and start making some serious coin.

Liam, good watchdogging. We are a little sensitive about our forum here, as Linda pointed out, and don't want to see people put it in jeopardy by doing things not in keeping with the good order and discipline, yada yada yada.

I want to thank those that excepted my apologies. But for those that didnt, so be it. I would love to send some samples out. Actually would like to get the feedback. I know they work for me. This has all been driven from the fact that there was nothing in the market place, again I am a CPAP user too, and couldnt find anyting that was really skin friendly....
So, please call us and let us know you heard about it on CPAP.com. I have contacted CPAP.com wanting them to check out our product too. Look, this is the way I look at it, if nobody was ever to purchase it, Il be the one that will because it works for me. See if it works for you if you are having skin irritation problems....
I know I started on here on the wrong foot, so il be the blacksheep of the community for a while, but I enjoy reading about other ideas on here as well, I wish I had known about this forum a year ago when I started wearing a CPAP...would made alot of things easier!!! hope every one has a great day....
