swift II mask - nasal burning

Post by Christy223 » Fri Jul 20, 2007 5:48 pm

DH has been compliant with his new cpap for about 3 wks now. He has been feeling great.

He woke up this afternoon (he works nights) with his right nostril burning like fire.

And ideas what caused this?

Thanks for your input!!

OK, no question is a dumb question right?

Where do you apply the gel...in the nose, around the opening of the nose, where?

Thanks!!!!

I second the verdict for some Ayr gel...try putting it just inside the nose or straight on the nasal prongs.

That should help. It'll give the schnoz a little lubrication, which is usually the problem.

Right

Around the opening and slightly into the nose

He may have spent part of the time with his mouth open, which generates a gale. His nose may be what hurts the most but a dry mouth/sore throat would match not keeping the mouth closed. Other folks here are the experts on tape and chinstraps to fix that problem. My medieval self torture skills are not that developed, thankfully.

Ha!!! Nothing beats the torture of attempting to disconnect your dry tongue from the top of your dry mouth! Nothing!

That aside, I would guess that hubby probable jammed the swift into his notsril when sleeping oh his side. And I second the Ayr Gel recommendation.
