That surprises me. My Respironics manual says, "distilled water only". The idea is to prevent mineral scale buildup in the tank.
My DME sends a new water tank every six months whether I need it or not.

Re: Apria

Apria is a profit driven company and are not in business to lose money. Brick and mortar cost money! Insurance companies are profit driven and will keep DME's honest. Know what the heck you want when you go to a DME. Have your doctor prescribe a specific machine and mask of choice. Don't know if I w...

Re: New experience!(not pleasant be warned, but problem solved)

Okay, here is the deal. My darling husband is somewhat...shall we say...gaseous. If we could bottle the methane that eminates from that man we'd be millionaires. So, last night, get all settled in bed and he is having a particularly foul night. Dear sweet lord, I thought I was going to die. Windows...

WARNING!!!

I have been suffering from a cough and chest infection for over a month, both my internist and sleep doctor think that it might have been caused by not cleaning my hose on a daily basis. They say that because the hose does not have the opportunity to dry out during the day it is a prime place for mo...

Most insurance companys will only pay for a new machine every 5 years. I got my apap about a month ago, with only 5 months remaining on the machine. It was an even trade. My co-pay went from $24 to $37. Now, in 4 months, it will be mine. I doubt that you will get two machines from them (ins. comp.)...

Hose length cannot possibly have an effect on pressure. Pressure is constant in a vessel!!!
