Smart Card - download capabilities Stupid DME's

Post by Christy223 » Thu Jun 28, 2007 6:29 am

I am being told by a DME that if I get a machine with software, that I won't be able to DOWNLOAD the info myself, that I will have to take it to them the DME for them to get the info off of it for me?!?!?!?!?

Am I getting the run around?

I understand by reading around here that people check their results each morning themselves??????

HELP

OK Respironics M Series Pro comes with smart card - then I have to purchase software on my own to download info. Is this correct? I just don't to get the shaft from some DME that thinks I am stupid!!!

Thats the way it works. You will also have to purchase the card reader.

Does anyone have an APPROX cost for both software and card reader? Can you order that here on CPAP.com?

Thanks!!

The software is getting harder to get all the time. The card reader doesn't seem to be too hard to get. Then depending on the machine you get you have to get the software that goes with that machine. It might be better for you to get a machine that give some data on the led screen. It seems that cpap.com has the silverlining software available for the PB machines.

Someone here posted that they had software that they wanted to sell. Do a search on Encore. The reader can be bought out of China for around 25 bucks.

They consider this therapy to be medical and our machines and prescriptions to be medical and so therefore they want to make more money by preventing us from helping ourselves.

They recently took most of the software off the market because the health industry was complaining to the equipment industry.

a patient able to help themselves doesn't need a doctor anymore.

it seems to be that way.

My card reader is on its way from Hong Kong. It is the mako reader from twofactors that oceanpurl gave you the link to. It was a little over $30 with shipping. Several folks have bought it there. Keep your eyes out for the software, it is sometimes available.
