How to remove the Remstar M Series unit from Humidifier???

Post by Snorkel » Thu Jun 21, 2007 7:20 pm

I've searched the Respironics Web site

(http://global.respironics.com/UserGuide ... midifier.p
df)

and searched here, but can't find anything that works.

I have an M-series, and am going camping tomorrow w/ one of the battery geek Li-Ion batteries. I want to remove the unit from the humifier base, but not having any luck. Anyone havw an idea?

thanks
david

if you feel under the front of the unit you should feel a lip. If you put your fingers under that lip and the thumb of your left hand on the top of the humidifier and kina pull straight up it should lift up. It was tough the first time I did it. There are two prongs underneath it that go straight up into it to hold it down.

Don't forget the hose adapter for the back of the unit for use w/o the humidifier.

David, I know what you mean! Gallandro is telling you right. I thought I was going to break mine -- takes quite a bit of force. More than you'd think you should use.

and it's amazing how much smaller the dang thing is w/o the humidifier. It certainly will make it easier to get into the backpack!

Wow, I can't even consider not using the humidifer. If I have the thing on anything less than setting 2, I get chronic dry throat. Sometimes even setting 2 isn't enough, but anything more than that and I drown :p

Can't win.

Thanks for the how-to ! My Remstar M is my backup and I use it "off the grid" where I have only 12 v dc. Since I cannot use the humidifier on 12v dc, decided that there is no need to take it with me. Unit is now boxed are ready to go - minus the humidifier. BTW, I have long had a 12v cheater cord which works fine.
