Are these "spats" really necessary???

Post by 53now » Sun Mar 27, 2005 8:58 pm

I'll probably get some "hate mail" over this post but " Hey !!! I guess I'm living on the edge.
Last week a 27 year old Police Officer was murdered in our city. That morning was every parent's nightmare as I nervously waited and watched the news to find out if indeed that young man was my son. My heart pounded, my stomach ached as never before............. Minutes seemed like hours as I waited. As it turned out , it was NOT our son. But that same heartache was felt by the dead officer's parents and young wife.
I just spent 3 days with my Mother in 2 different hospitals with a severe Nose bleed. She nearly bled to death. I am emotionally and physically wiped out !!!!!
NOW, I log on to my favorite web site to catch some of the latest news on the new Aura........or "how about that new Comfort Curve...... or "do I really need a Auto pap ???......... etc. BUT much to my shock....I discover yet another "In House" battle of personalities and hurt feelings.
Folks !!!!! I have no halo over my head...no one is perfect but I would suggest that several of us need to "just chill out". Maybe take a week off from these message boards.
Several weeks ago I posted a response to a question. One of the "more experienced" posters told me I was all mixed up........ That I didn't know what I was talking about !!! My first thought was to Fire back !!! But I just stepped back.....considered the source and moved on.
Life is too short for this junk. "he said that I said , that he said that I said. Shuuuuu weeeeee Too much for me !!!
For those involved >>>>>>>>share phone numbers and hash this out in private. ( I'm not demanding ...just suggesting )

Hi Rich,

I'm sorry for all the agony you went through. No one should have to go through something like that. I'm sure with your relief came the added horror of knowing someone else had to suffer that loss. Hope you never have to go through something like that again.

As to the spats, well unfortunately they are a fact of life, signs of a sometimes dysfunctional family doing its thing. Stuff happens.

But thanks for reminding us (with this story of yours) to put life into proper perspective. Life is a precious thing, is it not? And this forum is all about life, about saving our own life and those of our loved ones who suffer from OSA.

Sorry for what you went through. Thanks for reminding us.

53now,
We need to learn to choose our battles . Your story puts things into perspective. If our politicians would think this way we might not have found our way in to Iraq. Your story touches home as I imagined the worse each time a roadside bomb and loss of life was reported from Iraq. He is home safe now but I still feel that feeling when ever it is reported in the news knowing someone , someplace will be getting that dreaded news. My heart breaks for them. . Life is too easy for some. They seem to become victims in their own mind instead of counting their blessings. After all . This is just a chat forum.

Thank you

You have expressed very eloquently what I'm sure many of us feel.
I'm sorry for the difficult time you have just been through.

I should hope not. Spats are completely out of fashion right now. No one should be caught DEAD wearing them.

Mr. Liam Blackwell.

(By the way, I too feel for you and your family, and am glad it seems most things turned out positively for you! My previous post was to try to cheer you up a bit. I know how stress gets to me, a little laugh here and there can be just what the doctor ordered.)

Dr. Liam, prescribing the only Rx he can: humor.
