Re: FDA recall on some Remstar Pro CPAPs
It wasn't tech a recall. It was basically advise the client and if they have problems with the machine, respironics would replace it. It was a voluntary recall. The exact wording is "Some humidifiers mail fail to operate due to a potential malfunction of the internal connection between the heater p...

Re: Water Tray gets stuck on Respironics M Series Pro
Interesting. I have the M Series Pro and remove the water chamber every morning and allow it to air dry. I have never had problems removing it. Go figure!

Re: Mask Noise Increased
As I went to bed last night I made sure the hose was firmly connected to both the machine and my mask, did everything I know how to do and what do ya know? It was nice and quiet all night long! I have no idea what happened on those previous nights but thankful that it was "back to normal" last night...

Mask Noise Increased
I have been using the Mirage Activa Nasal Mask for the last six months with good results. AHI now down to 1.8. However, the last couple of nights when I put the mask on the noise of the rushing air is much louder. No leaks around the mask only the loud sound of rushing wind that I do not remember be...

Re: Never Happened Before
The exact same AHI for 3 weeks in a row - hmmm, what's the odds of that happening? Is it always the same ratio of apneas to hypops? While that is consistently good, you don't know that it is your personal best. I personally would prefer to know my treatment was optimal before settling, but that's j...

Never Happened Before
Since I bumped my pressure to 13.5 I have had 3 weeks of AHI exactly at 1.9. Which for me is excellent. I have never had AHI's that were identical and especially for 3 weeks in a row! Anyone else have that happen or maybe it is a regular experience some? I am wondering of bumping up the pressure to ...

Re: Vibratory Snore
My average vibratory snore over the last 36 days is 30.9. Some nights as high as 117, 57, 74. Should I be concerned about this? My average AHI (1.7) and leaks (40) seem fine. If all else is well should I not worry? If it were me I would not worry. AHI of 1.7 is excellent. Often times my vibratory s...

Re: Weight Gain and Pressure
I've gained more than 100 pounds since starting cpap. My pressure is still exactly the same, and my AHIs just as good. Interesting. I am trying upping my pressue by .5cm this week to see if it does make a difference. It might not, but what the heck. People who have an AHI of always under 2.0 drive ...

Weight Gain and Pressure
Since my sleep study more than 3 years ago (at which I was titrated at 10cm) I have gained about 35 pounds. I have raised my pressure over time to 13cm and have been running an AHI for the last 3 months of 2.7. I am frustrated that I cannot get it lower than that. Tonight I want to up it to 13.5cm f...

Mouth Breathing and Leak Rates
The last couple of nights my AHI has soared to 4.5 and also 6.0. I am ususally at 2.4 to 2.7 Nothing has changed so was wondering a couple of things. Could I be mouth breathing all of a sudden (which I normally do not do)? Would mouth breathing show up as increased leak rates? My leak rates are stay...

Re: Acceptable AHI numbers
While I agree that SP02 is important, can't one wind up with an SP02 that is acceptable, but still have enough events with awakenings to totally distrupt their sleep stages? That can't be good, either. I agree that ones 02 stats can be in the normal range even though many events throughout the nigh...

Re: Acceptable AHI numbers
This thread is very, very interesting. Since recently joining cpaptalk, I've pondered some of the same questions myself. For example, I've considered buying an oximeter and the software for my CPAP so that I can review the data on a, perhaps, weekly basis. What do most folks think about performing ...

Re: The most annoying part of CPAP therapy...
get a Papcap I already sleep so warm I kick off covers, sheets, etc. and often wake up hot and sweaty. I can't image sleeping with a cap on my head, doesn't it make your head warm? I know what you mean about sleeping warm. Even when my room temp is 69-70 I will wake up and find my mask starting to ...
