Sounds like you have the straps turned inside out. It's easy to do if your not paying close attention when you put it back together.

I don't follow what you mean when you say the "straps turn into your face".

Did you reassemble the mask correctly? I have occasionally put the pillows into the frame upside down. And it's not at all comfortable to wear if the pillows are in upside down. So that's the first thing I'd check---make sure the pillows are in the correct orientation. The little Resmed logo on the part of the pillow that faces AWAY from your nose should be on the TOP side of the pillow when you put the mask on.

Also it can be easy to inadvertently put a twist in the silicone part of the frame when you reassemble the mask. And that's as uncomfortable as it sounds.

So those are the two things I'd check.

Been down that road, too.
Note: all printing should be on the outside--right side up.
The notch should be on the left side, --YOUR left --(looking in the mirror it switches)
and the pillows lean together at the top as you get ready to insert them.)
I used the images on cpap.com for a guide. Good luck.

Thanks all, but I seem to have all that correct. Resmed name is on the outside of strap and pillow. Hmm maybe a defect but I only took it off to wash the pillow darn had to go back to LT I got this from a rep so who knows how long it had been in the hot trunk. Fine out of the package.

Did you put the headgear in the dryer, if so that will deteriorate the fabric. It states in the instructions not to use the dryer.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Would never think about washing and drying in a machine, to answer that question.

If you go up to chunkyfrog's post, his equipment list has a link to the mask and you may see where you have an assembly error. I think you have a twist in the straps as there is no top and bottom label. Give the photos a try.

Regards,
TerryB

I'll suggest that you take the whole thing apart and start over.

Sometimes that helps.

By the way the notch strap has to be on my right if it is on can't switch to left cause then you can't see Resmed name then i have to take the strapout so adjustment can be made on outside of hair not under strap to adjust

Just a minute now...

The pillow has ResMed on it and that faces your nose.

The pillow has a pad and a pad with a bump on it. The bump is toward your left ear.

The head gear has one side that has SwiftFX printed on it near to the attachment hole that has a notch in it. This fits over the pad on the pillow with the bump in it.

The other side is mostly square with no notch. This other side goes across your right cheek.

The silicon strap with the notches for adjustment goes on top of your head, and the elastic adjustable band goes across the back of your head.

If your notch is to the right, you need to move it to the left and take any twists out of the head gear.
