Hoarseness

Post by Schuman » Thu Oct 28, 2004 2:57 pm

Hello, I have been using my BiPap machine with humidifier for about two months. Since I started I have experienced hoarseness, sometimes fairly severe. My throat does not hurt but the hoarseness can be embarrassing.
Any suggestions on how to eliminate this?
Thanks

By all means get evaluated for acid reflux. It is statistically linked to obstructive sleep apnea and will cause hoarseness.

I too experience frequent hoarseness since being on my cpap. I have an idea that It happens because of some nighttime mouth breathing as I use the nasal pillows. This causes a drying/irritation of the lyrnex. What have you found. I have a air setting of 6 and I do not like to use heat so I usually use only cool air with the humidifier. Last night I had a light heat and today I have hoarsness. What have you found.
