As a newbie, I'm confused by this article, relevant to the big picture. I gather we need to disclose the fact that we have OSA to the anesthesiologist before surgery, but is it the anesthesia during the surgery that presents the problem, or post-op pain management medications? Are we restricted in ...

Re: CPAP before surgery

I am trying to research the idea of patients using a CPAP prior to surgery to help them recover from the anaesthesia (wake up). I have heard many stories that patients are not waking up as easily with OSA without pre treatment of a CPAP. Can anyone tell me if they have experienced this. Thanks, Cha...

To borrow a saying from old Col. Potter "Horse Hockey!" Please don't take this as a personal attack. It is not meant as such, but I think you have made this personal against Brett. You have have every right to question this product and air your concerns. Good discussion is what this board is about. ...

It a personal preference thing, but I have really grown to love the "spice". The clear is also good, especially if you have any congestion. I am really looking forward to the vanilla!!

It would help if you posted what type of mask you are using. If you are using a nasal mask, it sounds like you probably are breathing through your mouth and losing treatment pressure by doing so. Dry mouth is a classic sign of this. Give more details and there are lots of good people here who can of...

OK, it wasn't a big deal to swap out the tanks so I just tried both tanks. There might be a "slight" increase in noise with the new design, but certainly nothing extremely noticeable. I really can't hear much of a difference.

About a year and a half ago, my remstar got repaired and Respironics installed the new "baffle" to prevent water from backwashing into the machine. Are you using the "rubber connector"? It's the clear rubber piece that slides into the cpap opening between the machine and the humidifier. If the new ...

Use the yellow light bulb to get an array of helpful information, but here is probably the one that answers your question:

I also had the long lasting red mark, but fixed it by adding a piece of fleece to the forehead pad. Now I rarely have any mark, and if I do it is gone quite quickly in the morning. I am still fighting the bridge of my nose. Actually, it has given me lots of opportunities to talk about cpap at work a...

I wanted a spare tank "just in case," so I ordered one from cpap.com last week with some other stuff. It is indeed a new design. They have incorporated a one-way valve so that you can't accidently tip water back into the machine. I haven't tried it yet, but was disappointed they changed the design b...

It looks like Sleepguy is ahead of the curve. Saw a commercial last night for I believe "Tide", which is now offering scents such as "lavendar/vanilla" to wash your sheets in so you can sleep better. They also show a couple changing their "mood" as the crawl into bed because of the scents

I read the original poll. It was quite clear. It is also quite clear to me that Eric is looking for attention, and not trying to add anything worth while. His last "pool" caused plenty of problems and I applaud Johnny for jumping on this one before it got out of hand. This, of course, is just my .$0...

Eric,

My recollection is that you spelled "shoot" quite well in your pool. It would have made no sense to say should I "shut" myself.

If you have something cpap related, ask it or share it, but stop posting stuff that is niether funny or worth our time.

Todd

Good Rule! (but sad when you need to make rules that should fall under common sense)

Thanks for running a great site!
