what's new FF masks?

HI, I started CPAP therapy two years ago and was a happy camper once I found the Swift. I have been unable to use my machine for months because of ear pain (that's in another post). Anyhow the ENT suggested that I block one nostril while using the mask to keep the air from being pumped right into my...

Ear Tubes and CPAP

Hi, I haven't been here for a while.... Anyhow, I have been unable to use my CPAP for way too long because of ear pain that starts within minutes of putting on my mask. It began with a suspected inner ear infection last spring. I have recently seen the ENT who had my ears tested. Turns out that the ...

High levels of cortisol can absolutely be caused by the stress of sleep deprivation caused by OSA, I imagine you are predisposed because of your pituitary issues. I was recently tested for cortisol and was found to have levels that were too Low, despite symptoms of high levels. The concern is that I...

Oh Sharon, I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. I see my Sleep Doc here in Montreal in the fall, I can ask her for a reccomedation if that would help. As for the poly-grip strips, sleepy red, they were the perfect solution for me, the lip leaker. They are basically a small rectangular piec...

The other nice thing about the Medic Alert brand is that it is internationally recognized and accessable.

I have too much to put on there too... that's why I'm wondering if I can abbreviate to OSA I would also reccomend the Medic Alert brand, if you just had an allergy to pennicilin, no biggie, get the drug store one. But any condition that may require an explanation or drug info, would benefit from the...

Wear a medic-Alert bracelet?

Hey there, I was wondering if any of you wore a Medic-Alert bracelet, and if so, what do you have written on it; Apnea, obstructive Sleep Apnea, OSA???? I have to get it added and was thinking that the full term is way too long, but worried that OSA might not be recognized by some emergency workers....

I was in a simailar place as you about two months ago. It helps if you break down the issues one by one and try to fix them, like you did with your pressure. Then it's just a matter of getting used to it. So, if you would like to share the specific things you feel might be hindering you, I',m sure w...

I believe a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) does that. It's like what you would use to back up power for a computer. I can show you a link to one I know of: http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/subcategory_landing.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1408474396673606&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443289558&bmUID=118...

Hey Cathy, last night was better but I still wasn't able to make it the whole way through - I feel like I'm starting all over again! You sound like you are going through a rough spot. Do you know what is causing the aerophagia? If you want someone to bounce ideas off of, feel free. billy, At first I...

I would definitely get them off to the Doc - you have apnea, they have sleep related symptoms and large tonsils - If nothing else it will put your mind at ease and may solve a lot of issues in the long run. I had my son tested when he was 4, they sent the equiptment home. The first time it was just ...
