They make deck screws now. Kind of pricey, but they won't rust or come loose. Pretty bulletproof. You can easily remove them if you ever need to...

It's just a flat 2 inch strap made from cloth, no stretch. She measured from the crown of my head to just under my chin. It fits nice...
