Goggles available for dry-eye CPAP users

I purchased a pair of goggles that can be worn with a CPAP mask and seem to prevent air from being blown into the user's face. They seem to accomplish this purpose without causing discomfort. WAHAH is the trade name on Amazon's site, where you can also see pictures of the goggles. I don't know if th...

Re: Dreamwear for dry-eyes patients

That's right. "Dreamwear not [recommended] for dry-eyes patients. Solutions?"
Anyhow, tomorrow I expect to get the goggles I ordered to remedy the condition and will report on my experiences Monday morning if the goggles arrive on time.
"Corrective lenses?" :-)

Dreamwear for dry-eyes patients

I have been using a Dreamwear mask for several months. However, I have dry eyes, and eventually developed conjunctivitis. Upon reading the Dreamwear instructions again, I came across a statement that those who have dry eyes should not use this mask, for it blows air into the eyes. There are glasses ...

Re: Dreamwear full-face cushion

They're all in about the same price range on Ebay. I purchased two there that leak, but I didn't realize it until I needed to replace the cushion, and discovered the leak. (So this isn't hearsay, it actually happened to me.) It's probably worth paying a little more to get them on Amazon, which allow...

Dreamwear full-face cushion

I found this mask suitable for CPAP therapy, but have a couple of comments on it. EBay sells them at a lower price than Amazon charges, but the cheapest ones on EBay often leak air around the magnet area. At least one user reported covering the leak with tape and getting satisfactory results, but if...

Re: Kaiser changes machine settings

I don't need Kaiser's records to qualify for anything, to clarify a point that has arisen on this thread. But I have continued to analyze the performance of my equipment since they "adjusted" it, and the average AHI for the 35 days prior to that was 2.26 and it's now 2.56 for the seven days since th...

Re: Kaiser changes machine settings

I have some interesting results at any rate. For the last 35 days before the change of machine settings, the average value for AHI was 2.26 with a standard deviation of 0.876. For the most recent five days including the day of the change, the average was 2.92 with a standard deviation of 0.873. Ther...

Re: Kaiser changes machine settings

It didn't occur to me that the doctor's recommendations might depend on whether the patient could choose any machine they wanted, instead of being limited to the settings available on a standard CPAP provided by insurance. But it occurs to me now, and I think I'll go through my medical record to fin...

Kaiser changes machine settings

I purchased an Aircurve 10 Vauto from a private party this summer, and used the pressure settings recommended by a member of this forum, with good results. On Feb 5 I brought the machine to Kaiser HMO so they could register it with their system, and the pressure settings were modified for CPAP mode....

Re: Leaky Dreamwear Mask

After wearing it for several days, I had red marks on the bridge of my nose, so I stopped wearing it. (I should change this, once I settle on the equipment I am going to use.) Regarding the Dreamwear cushion, a reviewer on Amazon said: "Mask leaks around the magnet area. I cover the area with tape a...

Re: Leaky Dreamwear Mask

I'm just using the one that works. AHI 1.21 last night. I don't really know if I want to stick with Dreamwear or not, probably won't if I can adapt to the Quattro. Fortunately, I finally have a CPAP appointment with Kaiser, my provider, on Feb. 5. Maybe they can actually do something for me--it seem...

Re: Leaky Dreamwear Mask

They all look the same, but only one gives any resistance when I breathe into it. (I've connected all four of them to the frame, in turns.) Since I'm stymied, perhaps I should migrate to the Quattro that I also have, if I can adjust it for better comfort.

Leaky Dreamwear Mask

I have (had) been using a Dreamwear full-face mask for several months with good results. Then one night is sprang a leak. I was given another one from my provider to try, similar to a Quattro, and it works, except the pressure on the forehead is uncomfortable and I probably don't have it adjusted pr...

Dishwasher safe water chamber for Airsense and Aircurve 10

The water chamber provided by Resmed for the Airsense and Aircurve 10 is not expected to be dishwasher safe. I purchased the one that was, and it survived the dishwasher, as expected. I'm wondering, though, if the standard one really would be melted by such treatment? If there is enough interest in ...

Cleaning Dreamwear

I use the Dreamwear mask, but the best way to clean the frame isn't obvious, for it is hollow and the air goes through it. I siphoned soapy water through it, then plain water, then used an air pump connected to it to get it dry. It's not very convenient, though. The use of ozone would turn it yellow...
